Picked my pre-order up from a game shop in town, not a small town, but easily 100 people there, they had loads on the shelf!

Didn't play it when I got home though, but I did get up at 6am to have an hour on it before work..

First impressions, even though it doesn't look like a GTA game, it still feels like one :) The controls are wierd, I keep pressing the wrong button for the handbrake.

Not done any missions, but I did beat up a guy who ran me over (the car's don't stop as quick in front of you now :p ) and nicked his car and cash, and then used the train line to cross into the other island. queue long car chase and bullets zinging into the back of the car before. Thought I would ditch the car, saw what I thought was a cliff, bailed out, landed below the cliff followed by the car landing on me... :(


Outstanding game :) Glad I have a four day weekend with the missus at work :)

I seem to recall the PC version coming out in late 1997 and then it was ported to the PSOne in very early 1998. Eitherway, you would have been mad to play it on the PSOne at the time as the graphics were so crap versus the PC and the PC had serial link support for head-to-head multiplayer.

Just ****** me off when the BBC can fluff up some critical factual information like that :rolleyes:
 
Just nabed mine from a supermarket that opens at 8:00am, I have to say it did feel a bit funny standing at the main checkout at the front of the store in a que with a dozen people holding the same item as me :)

I have 4 days off work now to spend with GTA

Aye, you're right. I bought the PC version when it was released.

It's a shame they can't spend 5 minutes to check some basic facts.
 
I was playing the early missions yesterday with dating (bowling with Michelle), driving woman around etc. and my girlfriend made the quote of the week for me, she said:

"GTA IV is actually like The Sims but for men" :o :p

Got a copy this morning from a mate who waited for a shop to open, should have another coming today in the post but that will be given to my GF.

Good times! Might have a bash at lunch time.
