*** Grand Theft Auto IV - The Official Thread ***

I got the taste of titties in my mouth!

Made me giggle when I heard that in the game, the last few posts reminded me :>

My ps3 pre-order was cancelled because I had used my old card to pay for it.
I thought all hope was lost then I went to go get some things from my local supermarket and there were 2 360 copies left on the shelf so I grabbed one.
This is the first break Ive had since 3pm and im only on a break because Im eating.

I love this game it feels a lot more like saints row than SA and thats a good thing imho as I loved saints row from start to finish.

The graphics are a mixed bag for me the night time looks good but its when the sun is shining and the HDR lighting is showing its stuff that I was able to look and say wow (I havent said that about a game since Gears if War)

The car handelingg took some getting used to but when you do its fine each car is so unique its unbelivable.
The on foot stuff leaves a bit to be disired though it just seems slow and clumsy to me.

I love the way that if you fail a mission you can get straight back to it without making a huge trek and also the fact that it auto saves after each mission.

I have noticed a few clips in the graphics when you walk next to a wall or object and also there is pop-up but theses things never anoyed me about the other 3 so I dont really care about that.

The way the wanted system works as well is great. I also enjoy the combat and dont think of it as a chore like the other 3. The shooting while driving isnt as good as saints row though

also the fact that it auto saves after each mission.

That's good. Didn't get my copy today because a certain store wasn't releasing it until the 1st May. Unless you pre-ordered it from them. All shops said they sold out around lunch time.

Is there anything to do in GTA IV single player besides the main missions?

I am about 15% in and tbh it seems that there isn't much else to do besides the story? In GTA3/VC & SA there where secret packages, jumps, etc etc, but none of that is really jumping out in IV. Is there more to it?

This game is immense, So far I haven’t even done a mission, just been nicking cars and exploring.

Running at 1080i on my 360 and LG 32LC56 TV and I have noticed no popups or jaggies. Especially when sitting a few feet back from the TV.

Is anyone else having huge framerate problems on the 360? If I turn a corner in my car you can see the console really struggling to catch up with the graphics. Played all the previous FTA games, but this one is giving me motion sickness with the laggy graphics.

Tried it on two different 360 consoles and both are the same.

Hmm I've had no issues on the 360 yet. Popup isn't as bad as everyone made out, and I've had no frame rate issues just yet - none that I can notice anyway. The DoF filter being used is odd though, in some places the scenery looks amazing with it, in others it looks like a PS2 game. Seems to be variable.

Why would you want to just do that? Why not just play burnout??

I'd forget about MP if I was you lot. Give it a day or so because everyone will be hammering both networks (XBL/PSN) silly and you'll just end up wasting your own time tbh.
