TBH switching the trip comp MPG readout is the best way for me. With it switched on eveytime I nail it I think "oops"

During the fuel protests of 2000, UPS were flying in supplies of Diesel using their own air fleet.
Somehow I doubt that "Nobby's haulage" could compete with that.

Almost laughed as i drove past a garage and Diesal was £1.30 a litre. Lucky for me petrol is still £1.10.5 around here, ive stoped using Vpower as well :/

We (TNT) absorb some of the cost and pass some on to the customer.
We are also in the enviable position where we can finance aerodynamic trailers and buy new, economical vehicles and alternative fuel 7.5 tonne vehicles.
Like you say, the little guys just can't do that.

In April 2008 the average price of a US gallon of regular petrol in the UK was $7.98 (April '08 national average 108.1p/litre and assuming £1 = $1.95). In the US a gallon is $3.61 (EIA). $3.61 = 48.9p/litre.
us gallon = 3.78 litres
£1 = £1.95 dollars
It's about £1.10-£1.50 petrol

National average is fake, i saw probably one garage below £1.10 (asda), so the average can't have been below that.
