PSP or DS?

- Emulation (SNES/NES/GBA/Genesis/Megadrive/Dreamcast/N64) - Ok, Dreamcast barely works but the people behind it think they can get some games playable. :D
- Can play downloaded games
- Can convert Playstation 1 games into PSP playable titles (basically emulation again)
- Homebrew apps
- You don't need to use the UMD drive for games which increases battery life and decreases loading times substantially.

That's the main things I use mine for personally, you will however have to get a memory stick (4Gb~£20ish) and a Pandora battery though. (tenner for the latter)

Well worth it.

In this day and age i would be cautious with anything that is pirated over the net

My sister has a DS though so if I get the urge to play a decent DS game I could always nick it.

Could only play it at home though. Can't be seen in public with a pink DS. :P

I own both and to be honest i change my mind each week with which 1 i think is better. In a similar way to whats already been said above, I dont think it's worth getting a DS unless you have *cough, a lot, cough* of games.

PSP for graphics and more serious games. DS for fun and easy muliplayer ( you dont even need to both own the game, it uploads it to the other DS)

I use Secure Socket Layer Usenet to download stuff, I wouldn't touch illegal torrents for the very reason that they are what people get caught on, along with P2P apps.

Also, it's not illegal to download in the UK (so I read on here?) and I never upload anything.

True.

That's why Rapidshare is so good.

Of course its illegal to download copyrighted material, its also pretty retarded to admit to doing so on an open forum with your contact details a mere click away. ;)

Never had more than 4 games on my PSP, have a few dozen for my DS though. I prefer the DS to the PSP its more of a gaming console than a multimedia device.

Also couldn't help notice you put using the stylus as a negative feature, its the main reason you should buy a DS as well as some great games.

- New Super Mario
- Zelda - Phantom Hourglass
- Trauma Centre
- Final Fantasy III/IV, Revenant Wings etc
- Mario Kart
- Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow/Portrait of Ruin/Tales of Eccelsia
- Brain Training
- Tetris
- Ninja Gaiden
- Animal Crossing

I have most of those at the moment (except FF IV, Tales of Eccelsia) and their are plenty more. Best handheld on the market if you ask me.

I own both, The GF plays on my DS and I use the PSP because it's better, Also the PSP as a very usable web browser that's ideal for those nights when you can't sleep and fancy a bit of a browse. I'm also in the "custom firmware camp" believe me if you don't have custom firmware you are missing out big time :)

My sister has New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart and Animal Crossing.

I didn't like the Wii's controls either. I guess I'm just a more traditional gamer that doesn't like change. :p

If I have custom FW, will I still be able to use PlayTV?

I've always thought the DS is the better handheld, but earlier this year I brought a PSP and slowly I'm coming round. Obviously one advantage is if you have a PS3 as you can transfer to and from with ease, plus you have the benefit of remote play and PSP/PS1 games direct from the store.

As for games I've only got TW08, PES, GOW & FF:CC so far but imo there all excellent games.

Only drawback is the PSP hurts my hands playing certain games for any length of time :(
