Goodbye City-Link, hello DHL

god you really got to be anal to start researching delivery times for your order that you "might" make.

OcUK now use DHL... not much you can do about it is there.

anal, no every time dhl have been suppose to deliver things to me they simply havent, i get to spend a wasted day waiting for them to show up then get lied to then have to waste a few more hours the next day going and collecting it myself

if im going to be able to track an order so i know which day its comming so i can take that day off to wait for it then id like it to actually arrive

theres a simple solution to this.

wrong... complain to DHL. No delivery company is perfect ive ordered bits from all over the place and it pretty much luck of the draw. How can you gurantee your delivery will be there on time using a different company? you cant.

i cant guarantee but for me dhl have a near 100% fail rate but ive never once had any problems with city link.

as for complaining to dhl i have a couple of times, never hear back from them or seems to make any difference, so i just avoid them where i can

I spoke to my local depot this morning, they said they would try and deliver sometime between 9am and 5pm today and would not give a more accurate time when asked, I then got in touch with the complaints dept who rang my local office, they then called the driver who said he would be in my area between 2pm and 3.30pm.
I have had lots of deliveries from City Link and have only been let down once when they put a temporary driver on the van for my area. City Link have never lied to me about a delivery.
DHL UK customer services have LIED to me and the attitude of my local depot is 'do we really give a ****?'

I had problems with City Link.
Main problem i find is the driver who doesn't load up all that you order.
To quote one ,"i thought you wouldn't be in so i didn't load the heavier box's."
Had to go down the depot myself to collect.
And you are right if you complain they just say sorry, blah blah.

Other way round for me... ordered yesterday and just checked online and DHL "left a card" however the time they said that i was opening the door for my girlfriend.....

i've not even got a card !! not a happy bunny, i will be having words with DHL and if MODs are reading this then i ask if we the paying customer can choose which company we use ?!?!?!?

I've just received my new order, which was three separate OC orders all for the same day. I got free delivery, which is great from OC.

DHL delivered them all, but one order was split into 2 consignments which arrived close to each other mid-morning, then the two other orders as one consignment around six-thirty.

So I got everything fine, it was free, and all arrived safely. But I can't help think that DHL could have got it down to 2 deliveries or even 1.

I worked in a post room for a large company (not going to say who but they are BIG) and we found that all courier companys had there good points in the country and bad, this way mainly down to drivers that 'worked' that area
In the end we had a list on the wall of trouble spots of each area of the companys....

I was waiting since like 8AM for my last delivery, it ended turning up at like 8:15PM :0
I was quite suprised :D

Finally got my delivery yesterday at 4.15pm so only a day late. Useless customer service at DHL.
Driver was a little frazzled as he had been sliding around on ice in his van - for some reason was still trying to take the back lanes that go up to 1500ft around these parts - numtie.

Similar thing here. Got carded on the first day (yesterday), so I attempted to phone the driver. 4 phone calls, and 2 voice messages left, and still no answer. No I check DHL online, and it says they tried to deliver again today at 1:45pm but there was no answer, so they left a card again... but I've been at home since 11:00am, there's no card, and my room is right next to the front door!
Hopefully it'll all work out tomorrow: both delivery times today and yesterday were between 1:00pm and 2:00pm, so I'm half expecting another attempt tomorrow between those times (fingers crossed).

"The DHL Home Delivery Service is a dedicated residential service that delivers between 7am and 9pm Monday to Friday"

Driver's in my area finish at 4. Got my order eventually after lots of phone calls and time 2 days late. Not too impressed with the DHL service.
