Yes, if you can't find a work around.

Post pics - we may be able to see a way round - underneath the end of the gfx maybe or front.

It should reach, then again I had a similar problem a few weeks back when I rerouted all the cables behind the motherboard.

Fortunately I picked up a 4pin extension from a well known high street electrical outlet for 4 quid.

But really I'm sure it'll reach or have a look around in your boxes for a 4 pin to 12v atx adapter.

I'm sure the wire will fit if you put it over the top of the card or even underneath where the pci slot is if there is room (I cant remember if there is any more, never looked)

If not you can try going behind the motherboard and if all else fails go to your local electrical shop and grab an extension cable. I'm not sure the big purple shop would have them but the small one might :)

its the yellow and black one that you can see plugged into the cpu at the top and then dangling inches from the psu down on the botton right.
its running down the right handside at the mo.

im considering taking gpu off and running cable down one of the gaps on the motherboard that the gpu doesnt cover when in place. then putting gpu in again and the wire should remain untouched but with a lot more slackas the gpu has now been bypassed - any better ideas?
