*** The iPhone 3G S Thread - All iPhone 3G S Related Stuff In Here ***

Just got mine, only got through the door from holiday and it was sat there waiting on my bed :) Been there since Friday :(

So much faster, I didn't think it would be this noticeable. I thought it would only really be seen in certain apps

Iphone 3G/3Gs WiFi problem...

Anybody else having any WiFi issues? Seems a growing problem on the net.

Only got my 3gs yesterday from having a 3g for a year. 3g worked perfectly.

The 3gs keeps disconnecting from my home network and will not reconnect unless I reset the phone and my wifi router. Its ruining an amazing phone.

Always an issue with something!! On other forums people seem to be blaming the OS3.0 update rather than the 3Gs.

I have changed settings on my router etc but to no avail.

Hi All,

I purchased my new 3GS on launch day and as soon as i removed it from the box, i put it in my new Griffin Elan Form case. The back of the phone didn't have so much as a finger print on it. It has stayed in the case ever since. However, today i carefully removed the phone from the case only to discover that the back is all scratched up. WTF ?!? Whats the point in designing a case which scratches the damn phone ? It's really annoyed me to be honest. A £440 phone scatched to bits by the damn case which is meant to protect it against scratches. I've fired off an email to Griffin complaining about it but i dont expect them to actually do anything about it

So....Avoid the Elan Form !!

I put an invisible shield on mine from day one and mines looks fine! A few bubbles under the back one but another person on here advices getting one called the bodyskins, I ordered some but i've not used it as my brother took his one back. Invest in this shield things like thin selotape asap. There great.

Nope working perfectly here with my homehub/Airport extreme!

Its usually a phone issue, if it persists, take it back. [A 2G of mine used to do the same thing, apple replaced it]

I've been having this problem since 2.1... It'll be connected but then it will drop down to 3G and just sit there... I have to turn it to airplane mode or turn wifi off and on to get it working immediately, otherwise leaving it for a while it finally sorts it self out.

Talking of 'skins' and cases... wouldn't mind a sleeve or something for my 3GS... saw a nice leather one in CPW last night, what's the consensus? I'm quite keen (if I got for a case) of the one feek is running.

Yes you do, it needs to be activated via iTunes first.

Thanks.

If I plug it into my work laptop, will that cause problems with using it on my computer at home? Or can you move between machines fairly effortlessly?

Not sure why but I have a feeling that Apple will make this as hard as possible.

I have mine set to manually sync my music on my home PC which does mean that even if I plug it into, say, my work laptop I can't put any new music on without erasing all that's on there already. Very annoying.

In your situation you can just plug the phone into your work laptop and activate it fine, then just close iTunes down when it walks you through the initial setup page and complete it at home. That's exactly what I did and I had no problems.

Yes, I do as well unfortunately. Picks up wireless but then often drops in strength then disconnects. Very annoying.

Have you seen it reported elsewhere at all?

You can have your phone activated with 5 differant PC's

I have a laptop at home, and a laptop at work, both for using with my iPhone

In quite a few places... Some people have reported that the iphone gets a little too warm and its causing the wireless chip to shut down.

Can someone explain this issue - what it is, how it happens and how to avoid it?

Im rather confused what I can do but just want the easiest way to have music on my iPhone and perhaps have it spilt over a couple of iTunes (work vs home vs sisters PC). It sounds silly having the same music on every PC just to support it...

As I said Im confused and its probably me just not getting why theres so many restrictions...

ps3ud0

It's when you try and sync music from anouther location that does not have the music on the HDD (Assuming they are not from iTunes) So you have to have all your iTunes to manage music yourself, or if they are purchased fom iTunes, in which case i think you can just download them onto the other pc/laptop your using by just logging into your iTunes account.

I think it's because it synce with the iTunes libary, so if you are using a laptop that has no music on, or differant music, it will assume because you chose to sync the music, it wants you to replace it with the laptop you are currently connected too. There maybe a work around tho, but ive never had it to synce auto, so im not sure
