*** The iPhone 3G S Thread - All iPhone 3G S Related Stuff In Here ***

Ah right...so the real option is, have the iPhone 'pull' your mail via IMAP every 15 mins or so, or have Gmail push it straight to your device, although I'm not sure when they're enabling 'push' for Gmail....it's in the works, apparently!

I seem to have fixed my issue :)

I updated my routers firmware to the latest one and I have not had a single disconnect or fluctuation of the signal. My router is a netgear dg834n if it helps anyone.

posting again since I got no reply last time.

Is there a way to check the total time for calls made? I can only find an overall time that includes incoming as well.

I bought 2 32GB models yesterday..

Plugged both into my machine.. and registered both under my name/email address as i technically own them but am giving 1 to my gf.

1 activated and is on o2 straight away.. the other hasn't activated after 3 hours.
Any ideas why?
I'm gonna ring o2 2moro to see.. is it something stupid like your only allowed 1 iphone registered to 1 person?

Forogt to add.. itunes crashed during activation.. but I think it might of been after it had finished.
Would this effect it?
Also.. can you reset this registration info??

iPhone 3G to iPhone 3GS

I have an iPhone 3G and plan to get a iPhone 3GS.

1) I would like to know if it is easy to swap all my stuff onto the new iPhone 3GS?
2) If my wife uses my old iPhone 3G which I will wipe, will she have to buy Apps that I already have bought? We will be using the same PC/iTunes account for both iPhones.

Thanks :)

Yes you can just do a backup of the 3G and restore to the 3GS and it'll work fine.

You can also redownload your purchased apps to both phones on the same account - it's not tied into the phone in any way.

Excellent, thanks for the reply :) Is there a limit to the number of iPhones you can have on an iTunes account?

iPhone 3GS - remote on headset not working

Does anyone else have this problem? I bought the new in-ear headset yesterday and that doesn't work either. Booked an appointment in the Genius Bar on Sunday, no idea what the problem is!

@ Meatball.. it hasn't been mentioned because a) we aren't allowed to talk about it b) it is old news

Just tried mine and worked with no problems. You could have a faulty socket but be aware that the new in-ear headset only works on the new iPhone 3G S and not the iPhone 3G.

Apple said:
Compatibility Information

The remote and mic are supported only by iPod nano (4th generation), iPod classic (120GB), iPod touch (2nd generation), and iPhone 3GS. The remote is supported by iPod shuffle (3rd generation). Audio is supported by all iPod models.

More info.

You can have your phone activated with 5 differant PC's

I have a laptop at home, and a laptop at work, both for using with my iPhone

Ive authorized my iPhone 5times now, as I keep re-installing win7 and I think 5 is the max. So any ideas what I need to do when I install windows next?
