Ferguson said in an interview he had him signed even before that match.

With all due respect, a player with that sort of ability at 17 would not have gone unnoticed by any of the big teams.

Seriously though if Huddlestone learns to use his size and strength properly aswell as develop other defensive skills he could be a very good CB. His passing would be a big bonus in this positon too.

It's a threat any team would have to respect even if we didn't use it much... and I'm sure Harry has thought about it.

Hudd is ok even now against some lesser teams. Players like Torres and Rooney would rip him a new one though. I'd still rather have him over Chimbo at CB anyday.

But I've noticed sometimes, ferguson has little clue as to which players to buy, he waits until other teams want players and then swoops in at the last minute.

Ferguson wont be signing any of them though, as he categorically stated that he wasnt buying anymore this summer. He is a man of his word and wouldnt possibly lie to the public so we know this to be true. Obviously just the papers having a quiet weekend and making up stories.
 
I can see Ferguson making some signing, but not before the season starts.

I think, if United aren't flying by Christmas, he might look to sign players.

I agree, I think he might be taking a wait and see approach too. No need to splash the cash now when it could be used for other things around the club, if needs must he can always spend the money later.
 
He'll see how the season is going, if the team is doing well without Tevez and Ronaldo.

Ronaldo, scored a lot of goals over the past two seasons, and replacing that number of goals will be his concern, if it's not happening by Christmas, expect to see him bring someone in.
 
talking about ronaldo, god he doesnt look rite in a real madrid shirt :)

I think Valencia could get 10 this season hopefully. I think it's a realistic target considering the far better team around him. He took his goal against Boca well.
