Get well soon chap! Nasty bump you had there. I have had 2 off's and countless bones broken, totalled my first Ducati on the second off :( I know EXACTLY what your going through.

Here is a little tip, get a eating tray or something, stick what you need on it and just stand it up somewhere, makes every day life that little easier :D

Im fairly certain its going to be a 675 Daytona :p

Get the 1200GS theyre amusing to ride, love how braking feels on them!

Went past the crash site today.. I think even at 60 in a car with ABS you would struggle to stop, you come up a hill and that hinders your view then just as you come up the hill and turn the farm road is there so no chance to stop in time, at 60 that is though, I Say they should make the road 40 from the bottom of the hill for future safety.

Didn't realise you bust your right arm! You must be bored senseless sitting in your room ;) Unless because there's no feeling it feels like someone else is erm ahem. Enough of that.

Good to Finally Meet you too Scort! Sounds like you need to wear some flourescent gear though :D hopefully see you on track next year then?

Progress is going ok, more bend in the knee but with that im trying to walk more so my leg and knee ache like hell!
Thumb has made big progress in a few days! can use game controllers :D still a little slow though :p
But my arm I feel like I have taken a step back :/ It was a stand in doctor and he was about as much fun as my accident! wanted my arm thats still half broken out of the cast after 5 weeks! Plaster specialist and Orthotics specialist did not see any sense in what he has done but docs know best.... Still going to try and see my original doctor if I can when hes back see what he thinks.
But now I have my arm in this 'thing' that allows me to bend my eblow a little bit, but everyone else but this doc thinks I should not be moving anything! as any movement is going to move the forearm bone :/
Ah well arm is even more useless than before now and feels so weak and vulnerable but at least I can shower with no cast now :p

And heres a pic of me Meeting James Toseland today :p

No longer riding an Italian
Bet you're glad to be walking about again, although that does mean you don't get to ride that sweet chair Flukester made :D

That arm 'thing' looked like a serious bit of kit, like some sort of bionic arm jobbie, but the doctor does sound like he rushed ahead gettign you out of the cast, especially if you can still feel broken bone moving

Best of luck with the healing process though, are you off of work still?

Scort.

Yea he was a nice guy! Happy just talking to anyone about anything!

Just a quick update from me! Had hospital again on Monday, a lot of xrays again and was seen by a much better Doctor, everythings 'started' to heal but its going to take a lot longer than I thought, since last xray there is only a slight shadow forming to show the bone is regrowing in the gap where my arm is still broken, he reckons 3 months before I get strength back in it!
Leg is healing well but he also reckons 2-3 months before I will be able to run on it and do contact sports! Got my first physio appointment too, but thats a month away..
But the big thing to hit me was the risk with the rod still in my leg, a few people have mentioned it but now a few docs have told me too that if I have another accident again and stress my leg I risk shattering the bone into lots of pieces :( not good.
They also said it could take up to a year for full strength to return to the femur bone, so I reckon it will be at least a year before I could have the rod removed, which I think I should do if I want to try some bike racing.

So now as my other thread Im going to have to drive around for the winter, see what this car ownership is like :p rather than driving company cars :D

I bought some a new lid and Kangaroo Leathers to cheer me up though :p both on sale!
Also BKS repaired my knackered slider section and sent back to me for free!

Loving that skid lid, nice buy!!! :D

Just a pointer, but when I had my huge "get-off" back in 1990, I fractured my Femur and the fracture ran into the knee joint. They had to take a bone graft from my backside to mix up with some sort of "repair paste"....lol....and then rebuild my knee joint and lower Femur. I was off work for 7 months until I fought my way back to full fitness ( I'm a firefighter so it wasn't like I could just go back to work and sit at a desk all day to take it easy  ).

The biggest thing that helped me get my knee and Femur sorted out as far as flexibility and strength go was cycling. At first I just did it on a stationary bike in the gym at the fire station. But then I progressed to getting out on the roads and putting some miles in, gradually building it up.

The Physiotherapy certainly helps but to get back to full strength it pays dividends if you start progressively exercising the affected limb and slowly building the strength back up from scratch. Cycling either on the road or on a stationary bike in a gym is a perfect solution as it is completely "non-impact" and will exercise the muscle, increase the flexibility/mobility of the joint but not cause any "jarring" or anything like running or jogging may do.

Best of luck for your recovery m8, feel free to drop me an email at any time regarding recouping from your injuries, my email is in my OcUK trust. :D
