GTA 4 performance

The ingame settings i use :

Got a comparison with and without ENB mod enabled now.

Nothing special really.
AMD 4400+, 3GB RAM, 9600GT, Windows 7 64-bit. I average about 22fps with ENB mod enabled and its playable for me, then again i'm used to the Xbox 360 version :p

Yeah vanilla is just the standard, unmodified GTA IV.

You could try also enabling the SSAA and SSAO+SSIL options in ENB and see what happens (note I take no responsibility for the melting of your GPU :p)

I've just tried it with all of those enabled, it looks soooooo good :( Only managed 9fps max though :D

Oh and for some reason the editor let me render videos at 1080p now aswell?

I've got a really annoying performance issue with GTA IV. The framerate is fine (see below), but every 2-4 seconds there is a stutter as if it's missed some frames. It makes it absolutely impossible to play.

My benchmark results:
Code:
Statistics
Average FPS: 64.49
Duration: 37.20 sec
CPU Usage: 53%
System memory usage: 64% (total: 4GB)
Video memory usage: 76%

Graphics Settings
Video Mode: 1920 x 1080 (60 Hz)
Texture Quality: High
Texture Filter Quality: Highest
View Distance: 32
Detail Distance: 60

Hardware
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Video Adapter: ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series
Video Driver version: 8.14.10.716
Audio Adapter: Speakers (VIA High Definition Audio)
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz
CPU is actually at 3.6ghz and GPU is overclocked to the CCC limits.
Driver is 9.12 Hotfix (hotfix makes no difference though).
The game is also running off a Crucial M225, so HD latency definitely isn't the cause.

Just wondering if anyone had a similar issue?

Also, the game looks awful. I can get over most things, but something about the texture filtering makes chain link fences and some other things look absolutely terrible.

lol.. ENB mod halves my FPS to about 25-30. I'd rather it looks bad but plays smoother. It doesn't even look that much better. :(

Yeah looking at the videos and picture comparisons, I'll take the higher framerate any day. I don't think smoother is the right word when talking about gta 4 :D

GTAIV2010-01-1016-57-00-20.jpg

my settings with commandline method:D
constant 60fps drops to 40fps when there is lots going on,only using 1xgtx295
you dont need those silly ENB mods

Those are rather high settings bud!
Can you do a benchie and report the result (as a benchmark point for me) cheers!

Game keeps crashing on me, I dont know why

Also I would like to know what settings I should be looking at running with
X4 9950 @ 3Ghz
2*2Gb RAM
4870X2

hmm i can run the game all on high, view distance of around 38-40, the rest on full.
and get around 55-65fps, and on the bench mark i think i got an average of 60

i got an i5 @ 3.8
4gb ram
but most strangly a 4850 gpu - guess my 90 pound bargains not bad lol

unless i'm missing something here ? lol
