***Mass Effect 2***SPOILER THREAD***

I don't know if it's been covered before in the thread but as far as the Samara/Morinth thing goes, is there any way to reconcile the two of them?. Or do you have to choose between killing one or the other?.

There is no way to do it as far as I am aware. Samara is bound by her oath to kill her daughter, so it is one or the other.

Jack is going to be my "Renegade" choice - although I kinda feel that, as a renegade, I should be trying by best to get them all sorted out.

How does that work, BTW? If I knobble Jack, does that change your standing with Miranda or Kelly?
Also, if you have dinner with Kelly (which I avoided on my first playthrough, as I was trying to get with Miranda) does that effect your standing with either of them?

Kelly is seperate and doesn't effect your other other potential relationships. As for the others, I have heard of some managing to have their way with more than one of them, but maybe that is down to who is on the ship and when?

I managed to have some casual sex with Jack and also lure Miranda to bed. Got kelly to my room for a meal but no sex scene sadly, was a bad ass renegade. They loved it ;)

I was a bit dissapointed with the Ashley thing too. Perhaps they were saving it for ME3, but it seemed so... irrelevant. Meeting up with your promoted ex crew member and possible lover and all you get is 1 conversation where she bitches at you and vanishes. Just had no bearing on anything.

I have a feeling she'll show up in some DLC

One thing I noticed, when I restarted the game...

Miranda is testing your memory, on the shuttle to Illusive Man. She asks who you nominated to be on the council. Although I actually appointed Anderson, as this was my alternate non-serious playthough, I said I appointed Udina, expecting to get a "That's not right" reply.

However, they (Jacob & Miranda) both agreed that was correct.

Does what you say then override your actual decision from ME1? I wonder if they put that in because so many people chose Anderson that it gives you a chance to put Udina in if you want an alternate playthought? Seems odd.

I guess the master save you import is created after you ice Saren, but the decision of Udina or Anderson is made in the epilogue, maybe this decision isn't saved?

just completed it with everyone saved, a very different game then expected but still excellent.

now time for my theory:

i think reapers are kinda like borg, they come every 50,000 years and turn worthy advanced species to reapers like they tried to do to humans in mass effect 2 and take all the information and knowledge from that species. The reason is because of what the harbringer said at the end, something along the lines of reaper are your salvation through destruction (and like the borg, reapers see being turned to a reapers as good thing for any species).

After mass effect 1 i thought you probly kill the reaper while they are still asleep at the edge of the galaxy (with them being so advanced), but seening that at the end of mass effect 2 the ships were awoken and moving it be interesting to see how bioware will allow you to kill the reapers (even though they probly do what the did for mass effect 2 and allow the reapers to win if you arent prepared enough).

Awesome series though, roll on part 3 :D

Favourite character for voice and writing has to be Mordin.

"Working on Collector Data, have ruled out artificially intelligent virus....unless it's VERY intelligent....and toying with me!...hmmm"

Also the speech you get if you romance Tali is priceless.

Yeah Mordins lines are hilarious. "testing a new bio-weapon, not on crew of course, didn't think i had to specify but Joker got nervous"

Yeah, it'll be interseting if they include an ending where the reapers succeed. Or perhaps an ending where you succeed by stopping the next cycle, however sacrificing all life in the galaxy in the process.

On another note, it has taken a while to appreciate this game, what with it being so different from the first. I think I judged it too harshly initially, and am pleased to say I take that back. Looking forward to ME3. :D

And then we get to the big reveal...

Commander Shepard is really...

The MASTER CHIEF!

(Well they are both called John.) :D

If they use a similar system as ME2, whereby if you don't upgrade or fill your team you die, i don't doubt they'd include an ending where you obviously fail and the Reapers win.

I am on my second run in and I wanted to say how much I HATE HATE HATE the Horizon map

It is so early in the game that by the end you have forgotten, but that map is so badly made.

Its hard to tell where you are going, the bit with Ashley feels really brief and cheap.

The final area is stupidly difficult to fight in due to poorly places items and the final boss again the Praetor is stupidly hard unless you keep strafing around.

I know its a colony, but it feels unlived in and really badly made

Also this level has tons of bugs (not the Collector kind), it is just a really poor level and considering it marks the introduction of the games main enemy then it should feel atmospheric and be far more intense

I do agree somehwat. I just got forced into that level (forgot the vid message triggers it) with my Adept on Insanity. The fight against the 2 Scions and 10+ Husks is just ridiculous, i had to resort to using Cain to nuke the damn things because there was no way i could survive 2 of them AND the rush of Husks. The Harbinger ****ed me off by possessing something that was on about 5% health, meaning it'd return back to full hp and make me kill it all over it. Frequently dieing (and allies are moronic vs Collectors and would frequently be killed whenever an Assassin with the Beam gun was present).

It did seem a bit... green and bright for the first Collector encounter and yeah, the Ashley bit was stupid.

OMG I found a new height to annoyance which is Miranda's trust mission. The last fight where you fight it out in the docks is UBER HARD.

It isnt hard because of the sheer number of mercenaries, it is hard because you have literally nowhere to hide. You are attacked from all sides and have nowhere to go. The only place Is in the centre in the front crate and then you have to kill the guys circling from behind yourself unfortunately they have shields and shotguns, so if you don't manage to disable them the instant you see them then your dead.

I must have started the level 20 times.

All it needed was one crate where you start and you could move around or at least somewhere where you arent completely in the open. Not a fun level.

I really do feel Mass Effect 2 needs more polishing. The game is there, but it really feels like they rushed it out and didnt check the levels properly. Lots of bugs!
