Why not race something else? It's more satisfying racing closely with the S5 hoardes in something less leaderboardy like a 911.

There's a big re-jig of the online events next Tuesday and the week after. More details on the blog on their website. Hopefully it will give more options...
 
That's wot I'm getting at, I want go race other cars but only in theryre comparable with the s5s. It's the reason I bought the VIP dlc yesterday for the gt3rs, however ATM the setup i'm using puts it 4 secs a lap slower on my fav track, suzuka!

I'm guessing you like 4WD so here's a plan for you;

Get a Lexus IS300 and put the ISF engine in it and a 4WD drivetrain. Few more engine tweaks and decent tyres to get it to A600 and you're eating S5's for breakfast and ruining their lives because their precious Audi's have just been overtaken by Alan Partridge.

I originally didn't have disk 1 installed, and it did 'seem' quicker once I installed it, not scientific, but I now install all my games just for convenience and to save the DVD drive spinning unnecessarily.

Just been gifted the 360 Modena, this weeks 'vs' winner, not that enthralled about it, but hey, it's one more car I don't need to waste credits on!..
 
to save reading through 100+ pages, ive just started playin forza 3 and when ever someone signs in or i get a message, anything that brings p the gray info bar the game slows down really badly but once the bar thing goes it is back to normal.


anyone else get this?

just discovered it only happends with the bar when other cars are on the screen also.

ARGH! I just cannot get the hang of RWD vehicles, and it looks like that is going to hold me back from R2 and R1 unless I can upgrade an AWD vehicle to that class. Any time I try driving an RWD vehicle I wheelspin everywhere and spin out on all the corners. Either that or I just end up fishtailing wildly trying to get the back end under control.

It seems that in an RWD vehicle, even more so than usual, you just can't touch the brakes or accelerator while cornering. Any time I touch them I just spin out.

Am I doing something wrong, or is that just how it is?

I kinda think I'll have to go back and do a bunch of F class events in a RWD vehicle to get the hang of it, and work my way up!
 
Try not to use the brakes when cornering, use them before, then go lightly on the throttle going through the corner, when straight start pulling the throttle more :)
 
As Vigoro says it's a technique thing. I turned TCS, ABS and the auto shifting off a couple of weeks ago, which took me a goof few hours play to get used to. I've got the hang of it now and my laptimes are a good second quicker in most cases even with an RWD car.

I still need TCS for the RWD Race cars or anything with monster power (say 700+bhp with a power kick). Powersliding an Aston Vantage around Suzuka is a very satisfying feeling.
 
Ya don't need TCS for any car! Just upshift earlier if you can't control your throttle. Its not like R2/R1's get bogged down at low revs! :p
 
anyone else find this rediculously easy? i just won a race on hard by 18 seconds without trying very much, i was in first by the 2nd corner.

also

i may have put a RS200 engine in my focus RS and i now have 650hp and its undrivable, i spin wheels in 3rd :/ may have to make it AWD.
