Corsair H50 Water Cooling Kit

are there any 2 fans in push pull that are regarded as the best for temps with this h50? i see apaches pop up quite a bit? and also any news on which thermal paste is best or just stock?

thanks

Use stock paste.

Reason? Saves arsing about with removing the old paste..

also..

Corsair wouldn't put the effort into a product then use **** paste that will cause bad temps.

anyone got any ideas on where best to point my other fans in an akasa omega case

ill mount the h50 on the standard back fan with 1 fan outside and 1 inside pulling into the case, but do i put my side 120mm fans pointing out or in, same with top and front?

Guys

Is there any difference or best option with regards to the pipes being at the top of the rad when installed or the bottom?

I've seen some with the pipes on the side too? Does it not make any difference either way?

Ordinarily you'd put the pipes at the top to avoid air bubbles in the rad, but since this is a sealed system it doesn't matter unless you have a dodgy unit.

Yup, I just positioned mine to ensure there wasn't too much stress on the pipes - once they heat up though they seem quite happy wherever you have put them.

Many thanks guys!

And the best pair of fans for a push/pull setup?

Or what is most preferred at the moment?

Not true actually. I tested mine with the normal paste it came with and then with arctic silver and the arctic silver was 4 degrees cooler at idle and nearly 10 degrees on full load.

It takes literally seconds to remove the paste and literally seconds to put a thin line on the cpu afterwards. 20 seconds for much cooler temps!

i always thought th h50 used shin-etsu paste? (better than as5?)

they do but i think its one of the lower quality ones as there are a number of different samples available.

anyone know the actual size of the head on these screws that bolt the fan on?

upgraded my akasa apache to gentle typoons 1850 and noticed around 3c lower but due to them having a larger dead zone in the middle of fan i went and bought a shroud to use between the rad and fan.
it came supplied with some 65mm m3 bolts but they are slightly ever so slightly smaller than corsairs enough so with a little wiggle the bolt comes out... cheers

regards

I had a couple of Apache's in a push/pull configuration but the noise was too distracting for me. Because of the rad, the inner fan spins slightly slower than the outer fan and therefore you get this whirring sound when one fan catches up in speed with the other. I found it pretty annoying so I went back to a single fan as it only made 3-4c difference anyway.

Where's the best place to get AM3 mounting brackets from? I contacted corsair but no reply yet.

Or does anyone have a spare one knocking about I could acquire for a price? :D
