I just can't wait for the DUP to empty the rest of the UK's pockets straight into Northern Ireland in a coalition with Cameron (as, if you were watching on BBC last night, they made abundantly clear was their intention). I wouldn't mind a conservative government, if it weren't for that slight drawback.

They can still do that under proportional representation! My local MP is Nick Champion (Labor member for Wakefield) and his electorate office is just 10 minutes away (same distance as my UK MP, funnily enough). If I want to talk about any problems or issues, I just cruise down to Nick's office and give him a bit of grief. Simple.

So what's the big deal?
 
Im baffled as to how Labour still have so many votes. Have people forgotten what a bad job they've done for the past decade? Do people think Gordon & Labour are going to change for the better if they get re-elected?

Just goto show how many dumb people there are that have brought into BBC & Daily Mirror propaganda.

Under proportional representation you have larger areas. They can't be local to everyone. The more representative you want it to be, the larger the area.

Nick Champion is currently local to you because constituencies are small. When he's representing another constituency miles away, how is he local to people there? This effect is much worse in rural areas where population density means these new constituencies will be massive.

As I posted above, they will have kept some support from people who don't want to become worse off under Con. Think about how many Civil Servants there are who face losing their jobs under a Con Government for example.

people probably still remember what a bad job the conservatives did last few time as well.

It's simple really. A lot of people just don't trust the tories to make things any better. In fact, I'm of the opinion that things would be a LOT worse if they were able to form a majority government.

Or maybe they haven't actually done SUCH a bad job, and there are a large percentage of the population, whilst they may not like labour, they simply do not trust the Tories with the country, and most likely the economy, and see sticking with labour this time round the safer option.

I think more than a few people are voting for them on the principle of 'better the devil you know'.

LOL. The BBC have been pretty much relentlessly anti-Labour for most of this election campaign, so quite how you can put them retaining votes down to BBC propaganda....

Mind, quite what I expect with your track record.
