Well you won't believe the day I've had with my Desire!
You may remember me reporting about my hardware buttons (the home and menu key) intermittently not working, leaving me stuck in the browser as the back button would just go back loads of pages.
Took it back to the CPW today and had a hassle free exchange which I was glad of.
So take the new handset back to work and an hour later I find a bit of time to turn the thing on, to my surprise I get a load of graphical errors at boot up and through the setup the whole display is flickering (a little like tearing whilst gaming without vsync on).
After the setup, I reboot the phone and it's like it on the main home screens.
Anyway after work, I make my way back to the CPW and I'm playing around on the phone whilst walking from the car park to the store and the display looked fine
I was concerned as I didn't want them to reject the exchange as I knew there was something wrong with this one and it would come back again.
Anyway, the shops deserted and all the staff are talking in a huddle and they all start to look at me as I approach them with my CPW bag, obviously recognising me from earlier.
I explain the problem and they just look at me for 15 seconds before one of the cool guys there just says "just replace it again".
Thankfully as I was sat down with the guy exchanging the phone, the handset screen starts going mental again during boot after wiping the settings from my phone. I showed him just to ensure he didn't think I was some OCD loser.
So yeah, 3rd Desire and I seem to have a working one. The second replacement also had large gaps around the hardware buttons on the track pad, the new one doesn't.
Have to say, the customer service at CPW was really good
