***The Official Forza Motorsport 3 Thread***

It's four wheel drive has a rs2000 engine with fully upgraded turbo and engine parts wide slick tyres a wing and a splitter also it's my drag racing car basically
my s700 one that timbrad helped me with however Is a nordschliefe beast and the b class one is basically a defined version of what timbrad gave me

Malcolm when u mention bringing down brake pressure does this allow you to slam down the trigger without locking the tyres but stopping quicker overall

haha i did the funniest thing yesterday i decided to burn 200,000 on a honda civic 07 and tune it to an S class.. hilarious.
the gear ratios were well out of whack tho so had to really tune it to stop over revving but love doing stuff like this!

S class shopping trollies are awesome.

Can't remember how much I have blown on it but its pushing over 900bhp through the front wheels which will shove it to over 250mph. Supprisingly it corners fairly well so long as you dont mash the throttle.

Lol I didn't mean to say malcolm btw my I pod corrected malc
how do you find the best braking pressures just open up a test drive go a speed then brake all the way down then adjust until you get no lock? Or is it more complicated than that?

I've picked up an official xbox 360 wireless wheel now. Just had a crack with it and I absolutely sucked! I turned force feedback way down, so I could actually steer, but I still found I was sliding all over the show. I think I'll have to dial it back down to use abs and traction control again until I figure out how to handle it. I should probably try again with a more civilised car than a souped up Golf as well.

One thing that will help if you haven't already done it is adjusting the peddle settings to take in the full range. No idea why they set as they are by default.

How can you configure or alter the wheel settings, brakes settings etc? Is it in the dashboard or in game? (for the wireless wheel and pedal set)

Also, I am trying to complete various races in the calender and I am currently attempting the Speedway races in class A600. I am running my Seat Leon CS, was gifted by Seat after wining something a while back. I have upgraded it with engine parts and handling bits n bobs and tuned it so the gears are trying to reach max speed. The Areo is maxed to give me speed not for cornering. Yet I am having problems keeping up with the AI cars. I have tried 3 or 4 tune settings, upgrade combinations etc and I just cannot compete.

The benchmark says top speed 177mph but never goes over 164mph. When I get to that speed the AI over take. The difficulty settings are:

Manual braking
Manual gears
Braking line only
TCS off
Stability off
AI Medium
Antilock on (not quite used to the braking with the pedals yet (Pumping))
Damage Simulation.

How can I get the car to go faster? I have took off some upgrades and added more power ones and kept it at A597. The AI grid are all just below that PI index, only by 3 or 4 points.

I think the grid is somthing like a Lambo, Corvette, Mustang type cars. Really doing my head in.

I did hire a driver to see how he got on and for the first 4 laps out of 9 he was constantly 2.5 secs behind second place and then it dropped to just below 1 second as the AI sort of slowed for a certain bend, once it was on lap 7 he was catching up and was very close to 1st and 2nd place cars then the stupid hire driver took the gas off and slowed down only to be over taken by ALL the other cars. This happend on two occasions.

Promtly fired him.

So as you can see I am struggling to win even matched races on the speedways, my launch from the start is good, rev engine to 4,000rpm and plant throttle down and quickly through the gears. No issues there. On track races I can win as I can brake late and take them on corners but with ovals theres no need to brake..

Those cars you mentioned can nearly top 200mph, so you will struggle using the Seat. All you need on the speedway races is top speed, so if you've spent money on Aero, brakes and suspention then its wasted PI.

I would go to the event list and do some other races until you get more money for a better oval car, or maybe you will win one.

It is in the profile section of the game, look for a controller setting and press X, it will take you to the advanced controller config. Allows you to alter the deadzones, pressures etc.

Cheers for that.. I was wondering if I should buy a different car. I have over c500,000 to my name and have a few cars in my garage that I have not yet upgraded, saying that I think I will remove all the non power upgrades and add some power ones, see how that goes. Other than that I will have a butchers into my garage cars.

Edit: Cheers for the settings info too. I will look later..

Picking a car for the speedway events you want to either pick the opposition car from the top of the list or go Buy Car>Search>Class then X to bring up the car list>Top Speed tab>Sort the list>Select one of the top ones and compare.

EB110S if you have it or Corvette C6 Z06.

Should I use the force feedback on the wheel or not? It's really hard to get used to!

Its much better when you get the driving position right and the wheel setup how you like it with the right pressure. Once you've got these sorted the wheel is much more fun and very enjoyable.

I have just finished making myself a contraption to house my wheel and pedals. It works but looks a tad horrid:p, functional and it works very well. Sturdy and comfy too. I shall upload afew pics later.:D
