Four different clubs have won La Liga in the last 10 years, compared to 3 in the PL. 3 seasons ago Villarreal finished 2nd, and 4 seasons ago Sevilla finished 5 points behind joint table toppers.

20pts or something between 2nd and 3rd to me does not make it look very competitive. 20pts in the EPL will have you roughly from 1st to 7th.

Did you not see their goalkeeping CRISIS at the end of the season!? :D

What crisis was that exactly?? lol....he was out for like 2 games and by then it was certain that City werent going to get 4th place....now if Given doesnt get back to full fitness for next season then fair enough thats a major injury but then City can just go and splash another £20mill+ on another good goalkeeper.

Fabregas: Did Fab and Wenger have face to face talks with media present? I watch 30s of SSN last night and the guy that was on was describing, in great detail, a meeting between them! We know the guy wants to go there at some point, we know Barca want him, but we don't know if it will be this summer, or next. I would imagine that the rags are making crap up as they know there is a decent chance that it might turn out to be true!

Well if they did then it would have been reported...ive read that Fab asked Wenger to leave then ive heard that it didnt happen and hes happy at Arsenal. Then you Barca saying there has been no formal approach from them to Arsenal and that they will respect the wishes of Arsenal and their contract with Fabregas etc etc.

Who knows what the **** is going on...i just wish either Arsenal or Wenger would come out and tell us straight.

Have you just fallen into the Sar Chasm again?

Edit: Looks like you're not the only one, the other Goon fell in before you.

My whole perception of this is that somehow, presumably because they are close friends through playing together for the national team, Cesc knew that Villa was off to Barca this summer, and that has given him itchy feet. Perhaps he expected to move next season rather than now, but now he wants to be part of that little spanish-national team clique...
Who knows what Barca's intentions are, and obviously arsenal don't want to sell now, which is why we bumped his wages up only a short while ago.

edit; and lol, yes I was being sarcy :D I am prone to do that, sorry!

If you are all for taking Fabregas away and adding nothing then take Rooney away, Scholes and Giggs who are very likely to leave within the next 12-18 months anyway and what kind of team do you have then?

The only reason why I'm taking Fabregas away and not replacing him with anyone is because that's what Wenger will do! Wise up mate, 1- Fabregas is leaving your lot, 2- Wenger wont replace him.

If I thought for a second that you would replace him with someone worth mentioning then I would be facts are Wenger wont replace him and even if he wanted to who's out there that he can buy?

Arsenal without Cesc still have Arshavin, Robin van Persie, Rosicky, Nasri, Bendtner, all more than capable of scoring and assisting and your statement that Arshavin wants to leave is absolut pish with no backing behind it whatsoever. He has never said that he wants to leave Arsenal.

You obviously missed all the stories about him wanting out last summer as well as the same stories coming out only a few weeks ago, I'm not saying that it's gospel but why else would he/his agent come out with these things if they didn't even want to entertain the idea of him moving?

I fail to see your point about being beaten by Utd at The Emirates, yes we were poor and yes Man Utd beat us but you do realise that the season isn't just about games against rivals, it's the most consistent team that prevails and unfortunately, you didn't prevail so unless you have something interesting to bring up, don't bring anything up at all.

Just lol at that statement

You seriously give the rest of the Man Utd supporters a bad name with your constant ignorance and one sided posting, unable to ever see the strengths of other peoples teams, only the weaknesses.

As for this I was all very pro Arsenal when I thought you were bringing in Chamakh and keeping Fabregas but losing your best player will effect things. Christ dont tell me based on your posts on this subject and how we're screwed without Rooney you weren't one of the people that were writing us off last summer when we lost Ronaldo

As for Denilson...everyone knows hes absolute rubbish but he did score a few goals for us....but maybe Wenger will do Fergie a favour and give him to you...seeing as you cant afford to buy anyone this summer:D LOL.

You do owe us a favour after we let you have Silvestre ;) :p

Mate why are you replying to his posts, they're silly and he's obviously only out for an argument

Wow well done you, instead of replying to my post aimed at yourself to prove what I'm saying is wrong you just completely ignore it and pop in a 5 year old's response

Hope that made you feel really big and clever

Yeah you can't do that with Arsenal fans, they are very sensitive.

The quote from Fabregas I read this morning included him talking about how his International team mates are all going to be together at Barca and he doesn't want to miss out.

can all the children bickering about their own teams, make another thread or something and try and keep this on topic.

this thread is about transfer rumours and signings, not about how crap arsenal are without fabregas or how crap man utd are without rooney. we all know your teams are inferior and it was shown this season with chelsea winning the double and everyone getting knocked out of the champions league a lot earlier than previous seasons.

barcelona have been lacking killing power up front with ibrahimovich not adjusting well and becoming a flop, his deal was rated to be worth £60 million or something though and they wont get that amount of money back, so they will need to hope he improves or try and ship him out as a swap deal for someone better. they have villa now as their main striker but i do think they need a decent back-up whether they want that to be ibrahimovich or someone else, time will tell.

iniesta seems to be getting less and less games with each season at barcelona and he is also getting less goals, so i would swap him with fabregas, which would make a pretty good deal for both clubs.

Can you stop banging on about how good Barcelona are going to be or not be and discuss transfers then?

You're missing one massive point, Fabregas isn't leaving this summer and the only talk is coming from Barca and Spain. So until he says he is leaving this summer / wants to leave this summer and until you get a direct quote from Fabregas explicitly stating that then you can just be quiet with the speculation. Get over the fact that Ronaldo didn't want to play for the 2nd best team in the premier league.
