I wasn't really referring to you, more Killswitch who apparantly has the sentiment that discussing anything before we get reports in the papers that it's confirmed is completely unspeakable.
I don't think it makes much sense for Fabregas to go either, he wouldn't really be first team until their current central midfielders retire or move on and is playing at the same level he would be in Catalunia anyway. Money can't be that much of a factor given what he's on with the Gunners already. But then again, Cesc seems to have a real fetish about going there and well, footballers aren't really famed for their level-headedness are they...
Arsenal themselves would eventually be fine without him I think although the season directly after him would be question as everyone has to adjust, they said the same about Ronaldo and various other stars who moved on and largely the teams have survived at the same relative level afterwards. I'm not discounting individual talent here, but people often forget the ethos and team that surround the player elevate him as much as his own skill does.
And Frey would be better value (Wenger's favourite word) than Buffon and is more likely to be available too after Fiorentina's finish below even the Europe League spots in the Serie A.
