Ok, back to Suras then...

(4:52) - Those (Christians) are they whom Allah hath cursed.

This is the God that they SHARE with the Christians & Jews? So now Islam is trying to say that the Jewish God hates them. :confused:

That annotation '(Christians)' is not in the Quran. The verse is about idolaters. It sounds like the sort of annotation you get in the Saudi editions of the Quran, sadly.

LOL. Idol worshippers, Jews, Christians etc. Who cares? Islam's God curses and hates idol worshippers when Christ's God forgives all? And Islam claims this to be their mutual God? Seems like mutual God is only that when it suits eh?
The Old Testament was pretty scathing of non believers, but at least that was based on something that came from the bronze age.
Islam came from a relatively modern time but still remains one of the most backwards religions on this planet.
Got to love the way that Muslims will acknoiwledge the presence of certain other religions as long as they accept that Islam is the true religion that rules them all. Yep, Jesus was another guy like Mo the Paedo, just not as good obviously. Mo had the last, definitive word.

Ermm she converted through HER OWN free choice....heres some more knowledge for you....muslims are allowed to marry jews and christians as they believe in the same god as us albeit with a few differences etc. Theres no compulsion for them to convert....but then you wouldnt know that because of your ignorance along with your 3 buddies ie bhavv, tip top and slug.

As for my islamic upbringing??...well it doesnt matter what i say because you wouldnt beleive me so theres really no point in trying to explain my stance/viewpoint. But i will say this until i was able to make decisions myself, islam was never ever forced on me or my brothers....my parents always gave me and my brothers the choice either you practice islam fully or you dont...which ever path we took they had no issues with it although my mum wanted me and my brothers to practice islam more but realised that keeping on at us wasnt going to make us do it....so left us to decide to when to practice islam. So unlike your skewed outlook on islam and muslims in general....we arent all crazy religious fanatics as much as you want to tar us with that brush;).

Until you can act like an adult and stop with the childish insults, which i know is bloody hard for you to do...im not really going to engage you in any sort of discussion...hopefully you can get your head around that...till then i dont see any point in trying to explain to you anything.

Well it wasnt really a question aimed at him to be fair...although i shouldnt have added the question marks at the end.

Personally dont really give a fig what islam has done to him....its sad but it happens and if he feels better without islam in his life then fair play....i dont particularly care tbh.

Personally for me islam has brought me a lot of peace in my time of hardship...but i dont expect any of the atheist idiots here to understand that:p....its never caused me any grief or any hurt in my life.

If only it were that simple. Unfortunately the misogyny inherent in some interpretations of Islam help foster an environment where such killings, if not encouraged, are not condemed. Easily proven by the fact that several strict islamic states actually allow for honour killings as a defence in a murder case.

Islam does treat women badly, the proof in this is the state of womens rights in almost every Islamic nation. Sadly it also treats men badly by the assumptions it makes about them by using our uncontrollable lust as a reason why women should cover up.

This isn't always the case though is it, from what I've seen so far any woman who I've known who wanted to get married to a muslim man has had to convert,(which would go some way to understanding why there happens to be a high conversion rate) as far as the husbands family were concerned it was a necessity.
Not wanting to second guess yours and your wifes relationship and how your wife happened to convert to muslim, but are you sure there was no pressure and would you of been just as happy to convert to catholicism in order to be with the woman you love?

Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him)." -Quran

When this verse was revealed a christian man came to the prophet pbuh and said, 'but we do not take our priests as gods'. The prophet pbuh replied did they not make haraam (forbid) what God had made halaal and did they not allow what God had forbidden. He replied 'yes'. The prophet pbuh said did the people accept it? He again replied 'yes'. The prophet pbuh said this is 'shirk'.

This highlights how widespread shirk is today, because Gods laws have been replaced by man made laws and most people including muslims have accepted it. If it was shirk then, it is shirk now.

Of course it isnt always the case but there was absolutely no compulsion from me or my family for my fiancee to convert....she was asked quite clearly by my Imam why she wanted to do it and she gave her reasons and none of her reasons included that she wanted to do it because she wants to be with me. If she had said that she was doing it purely for me then my Imam at the mosque would have put a stop right there and then.

If other muslim families are compelling/forcing the woman to convert then again thats their issue and its wrong...you cannot force islam onto anyone simple as that and thats the way ive been taught islam from a very early age....yeh its the boring version of islam as it doesnt quite meet the violent aspects of our religion:p.

BTW you might want to read my last post regarding my FIANCEE...she isnt my wife just yet;).

And no theres no question that i would have converted to her religion...i wouldnt be anything but a muslim and my fiancee is much the same...its funny that at a young age, she was already curious about islam...in fact she brought a few books home on islam and her parents beat the living crap out of her:(....i guess i can blame christianity for that eh??.

how come that after nearly 2,000 posts on this thread arguing about conversions to Islam & goodness know what else you suddenly enlighten us with the fact that you suddenly have an ex Catholic fiancee & a converted sister in law that we weren't privileged to hear about before ? :rolleyes:
