Never saw any of these excuses to explain why Walcott struggled on the right, maybe Lennon isn't as good as people thought he was, he was over rated massively pre-WC

scared? Lennon hasnt been playing well this WC purley because glory boy Johnsen hasnt got a brain.

Ah, is that why every time he gets the ball he cuts in? Is that why he won't run at people and wants to pass it as soon as he gets it? Is that why there's been zero end product, and he's been completely overshadowed by his full-back?

I wondered what it was.

To be fair though, if the rest of the team would pass it as quickly, they might get somewhere. :p

Does anyone think Capello will make any real changes to the squad on Wednesday or play the exactly the same as the previous two games?

If so, what do you think he will do? I personally think he's going to do the same old, same old again.

He will have a minor tinker.

The following are not reasons for England playing badly:

- Money
- Low motivation playing for England
- Mental weakness
- Team morale
- Formation
- Lack of WAGS allowed
- Who the team captain is
- Whether the players agree with Capello releasing the team 2 hours before the game
- Robert Green throwing the ball into his own net
- Invasive press
- England fans booing
- Vuvuzelas
- The colour scheme of the decor in the hotel bedrooms

The following is a reason for England playing badly:

- The players are not good enough.

When Rooney cannot even trap a ball and Heskey falls over himself then boots it out for a goal kick, is this because of the manager or the formation? No, it's because we are GASH.

but the players ARE good enough (minus SWP and heskey maybe) they have proven this week in week out all season in one of the highest regarded leagues in the world

its something else thats wrong and for me its the formation and team selection

Rubbish, Lennon COULDNT run forward half of the time because Johnsen was playing further up the field than Lennon was. At one point Johnsen was actually standing within 5 metres of Lennon for a good couple of minutes.

I lost count how many times Johnsen left a massive hole at right back after he charges up the field unnecessary. Both of our wingers were tucking inside the middle and not getting to the byline, which doesnt suit Lennon.

Johnsen is good at going forward, but a absolute liability when defending.
Lennon put a couple of decent crosses in, but he didnt have many opportunities as most of the time Johnsen was miles infront of him

I just wish people would stop defending their club's players! James, Barry and A.Cole were the only players IMO to come out of that match with any credibility. The rest were dire. NO excuses.

I'd agree with this, but that's one of the good things about Johnson. He's generally very good when attacking. Sometimes though, he needs to remember that he's a defender. To mix it up a bit, I wouldn't have minded seeing Carragher play RB and have Johnson RM.

Right from the start Gary Neville should have been right back and fed Lennon , but hey ho :p;)

If the only tinker is 4-5-1 i'll be happy ;)

4-4-1-1 might work.

We NEED J.Cole playing though. SWP and Lennon are just toss.

Milner-Gerrard-Barry-J.Cole
Lampard
Rooney

Something like that maybe. Heskey's not been as bad as people think, great at holding the ball up and he's set up our only goal!

wasnt it Capello that once said he would always pick on form!?!?!?!?!?!?

Muppet!

StevieP

it sure was ! which is why i was so confused against USA when we had man citys out of form right winger playing on our left while man citys in top form left winger hardly got a chance (12 minutes was it?) and was left at home

oh and supposedly a.johnson wasnt preffered because capello wanted speed down the flanks (he isnt even slow, just average) , that would explain why joe cole has been missing too. but what good is speed when they cant cross , shoot or pass

I beg to differ:

Pass completion for the USA game.

16 James MILNER 100.00%
7 Aaron LENNON 88.46%

The two wingers that STARTED the first game had the highest pass completion. Obviously also counting crosses.

And again, Milner came off fairly early on. Will he be fit for Wednesday?

lol milner made 2 passes if that . infact

opta said:
James Milner made as many fouls (2) as he had touches of the ball, before being substituted on 30 minutes.

lennon wasnt bad but ran into players and off the field a lot. SWP was who i was getting at anyway and he was dire

Im sure James fumbled a shot at one point - he didnt exactly look dominating

Barry only looked good because of how badly everyone around him was playing - he didnt exactly set the world alight either

A Cole did ok - I still wish he was a nicer bloke though lol

considering how its gone so far and how badly majority are playing I think its a relief that a.johnson wasnt picked - even if England lose the group in the WC he is chosen for, at least we can hope the team is enjoying their game while being defeated
