Snip..
The one thing that really put me off though was the battery life
Nope, i gave up and ordered one instead. I talked the talk and pretended i was left handed, etc and they still wouldn't give in lol. It's a bit of a non-issue for me anyways as i haven't experienced any issues with the way I personally hold it. Also i was planning on buying a bumper anyway, but having a go at getting it for free and exploiting this antenna 'issue' everyones talking about is always worth a try.
Have a go anyway and seeI so far only know of one person on here that has managed to get one for free.
Yeh someones GF did. I tried on sunday but he was a complete tool and they didn't speak much english. Going to try again today. I refuse to pay while others get them for free!
Check Macrumors, a lot of them claim to get them free.
Was that through an Orange online? Or from a reseller like CPW?
not sure if its been posted but 1.7million iphones sold in 3 days

Ah that's a bit annoying. I just got off the phone to them and they're saying they haven't got any and don't know when they're going to get some more in. Ah well, suppose a few more days can't hurt at all.
Was it the 16GB or the 32GB that you went for?
that doesnt tell you the whole story.
Heres an example, i used to work for a clothing company, and on our computer system one of the things that we had access to was the unit price. This was the actual price of the raw garment, straight from the mill in india etc..
They would sell (for example) a pair of jeans for approximately £45. The actual cost of the item itself was around £10
this would lead you to believe that they were making over 300 % profit.
But once you had included all the overheads, such as marketing budget, staff wages, lease on company properties, liability insurance, expenditure on staff christmas parties, stationary etc..etc..
The actual profit margin was only 10 %
so of that £45 only £4.50 was profit, despite the item being £10
bear that in mind.
