I liked GW's so I didn't cheat/play unethical!

I must have my account details right because it lets me log on, doesn't show me any char's just char slots that are empty with the message saying 'You are not authorised to play this game, please purchase GW's'

Oh? Weird... think your best bet there is to contact support. Though it is entirely possible you were hacked and had your chars deleted, but then surely it'd say you were banned when you tried to login.

Ah much better. Got my login details right this time. Downloading 22,000 files to get into my Guild Hall :D Think i should do the -image...

They won't help me without my 25digit key...which I don't have anymore, I got rid of the box etc years ago because the key is linked to the account.

I told them that the key is linked to the account - they agree'd...but they still wanted to know my key :(

-image after installing only the basic GW... would be helpful if the dl speed wasn't all over the place since its getting that many files, started off at about 75,000 files.
 
I wouldn't say it's dead, to me it was a fiver well spent. Me and a mate jump on run around and do a few missions. Put it down job done! Even then most nights its pretty busy in the main areas.

To me I couldn't care less if the pros are on or not, all I care about is getting value for money and decent gameplay and tbh it provides both for next to no cash :)

right i've just bought this and need help! i may be a total n00b but how the fudge do i login to the game?!

i installed it through steam, created a guild wars account successfully with my product key however i cannot login as it's asking me for the name of a character on the account, now I'm sure you'll all know where this is heading, i have no character as i'm new to the game and i cannot create one as I cannot login.

hmm, the support stuff is no real use - at least I can't find anything to help. is there any online account tools so i can at least change the secret question? any ideas or is it a contact support job?

edit: i must be thick - i cannot for the life of me find out what the fudge i'm supposed to do to get into the game without a character name?

Are you sure:
a) you haven't created a character in a trial or something or b) your account name (yes that includes @hotmail.com etc) and password are correct.

Because i found this on the GW homepage.

Q: What if I don't have any characters created on my account yet?

A: No problem. If you don't have any characters on your account, just leave the security question field blank. Once you create a character, however, you'll have to enter your character name in order to log in.

As Evilsod says it should work ok with just the email and password you registered with.

Make sure that your password isn't too long either as I think it cuts off after 12 or 16 characters or something although it will accept a password that is longer.

hmmm maybe that's it then - i'll try and reset it tonight with that in mind and see if i have any joy. thanks :)
 
is this guild still going then or is there any incarnation of it i am a regular player who will be playing until and possibly beyond guildwars 2's release.

GobzzzMp3 i dont believe its dead and the pros certainly havent left, although a lot of the players now scam people for the pettiest things, or use bots in pvp which gets them banned anyway,

the game keeps evolving and will continue even after guildwars 2 drops, obviously if guildwars 2 doesnt end up being massive fail most people will go to gw2 and the old game will have less people

but that will just reset the economy on the game surely, it is still a brilliant game to play.
 
So it's summer and therefore I'm back into Guild Wars big time. Re-built my five year old elementalist as a proper fire ele and battled through and completed EotN. Now off to Cantha and Elona on my eternal hunt for more shiny armour.

Does The Godless still exist? I still see the odd guild member pop up on my friends list, but I have no idea.
