What we need to teach our kids and future generations is tolerence of other cultures so there is not such a big divide on some of the levels in our society its getting ever increasingly bigger due to media hampering on about islamic terrorists blah blah blah.

And stupid people jumping on the band wagon.

Not problems, we only want to hear you on the 'muslim' issue.

Go tell us exactly how you would stop the infiltration as you see it, otherwise all arguments from now until the end of time with you and this subject are completely baseless and without argument - and stem from irrational hatred of foreigners, as you have displayed time and time again.

If you cannot suggest a solution, you are merely a part of the problem. Ala racism BNP extreme views etc.
 
I believe it has something to do with honouring Allah (or obeying his will etc) anyway its for religious reasons.

Problem is - some put forward the case that Islam denigrates women and forcing them to wear the hijab/veil etc etc is part of that. Obviously this would not sit well with the UK. But obviously a lot of muslim women are going to say it is their free choice to wear it and they are not being forced at all.

Problem with that is that their religion could say they should be beaten on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays as part of some kind of penance according to the will of Allah AND the women would "freely" gladly accept it because they would be serving/obeying Allah so it must be good and right. Because that which is good is determined by God.

Asking or telling them they cannot wear the veil is to ask them to go against God. gl with that one working out.

Which leads us onto the euthryphro dilemma. (in a nutshell)

What is good?
a) Is something good because its good? OR
b) Is something good because God says its good? (current situation with veil)

Essentially this is a very personal thing between those who wear the veil and their God. They dont see it as affecting or harming anyone else.

It is about the equality of men and women within that Religion. Will Islam modernise like Catholicism modernised? (see women priests situation)

But like i said this is the whole Euthryphro dilemma in modern times...

The thing about the UK is. We are not pro religion and we are not against religion. All faiths are welcomed to these shores as long as they stay within the law - well thats the theory.

The children of other cultures must also be taught tolerance.

There are extremists on both sides.

And rightly so.. It's a valid point that the abbreviation was historically used as a derogatory term by whites.

seriously lol. I have quite a few friends who are muslims, they are highly educated and don't wear the veil nor do they agree with it and would disagree with you on the fact that women are pressured to wear these.

unfortunately a lot of muslims in the third world (which is where the majority reside) are not as well educated as you pretend, and even less so when it comes to women. unfortunately this backward mentality you refer to is not a just few. women in those countries have very few rights, which is not the case in europe. the veil is a symbol of this oppression and thus counter to western values. to say it's a choice for all women wearing the veil is plain denial or misinformation.

FYI in France there is a big muslim women's movement called Ni Putes Ni Soumises (neither whores nor submissives) which was founded because muslim girls not wearing the veil were called whores, beaten, gang raped and murdered for not wearing the veil. this is not a few isolated cases. there have been many documented stories over the years.

You really are getting pedantic with this.

The rivers will be filled with the blood of the white English man, no one else, not at the rate it is going now.
