Fulham confirm signing of Carlos Salcido on a three year deal :)

‘Carlos is a versatile defender who can play in a number of positions, so he gives us a number of options defensively. It is pleasing that we have been able to make additions of extremely high quality during this window, and that these players will help us progress in the right direction. There are still a few days before the window ends, which may see some more activity, so I’m very satisfied with the way things are shaping up for the season ahead.’

Been a very productive window for Fulham, all good signings!

Skysports.com understands Fulham are in talks to sign Liverpool youngsters Lauri Dalla Valle and Alex Kacaniklic.

That Dalla Valle is mean't to be good, isn't he?

Kacaniklic is ok but I doubt he'll make it at the top level. Dalla Valle is very good prospect; the only concern with him is that he's not physically either big or particularly quick.

No surprise if you are going after him, the guy that brought him to Liverpool is now at Fulham. It's possible that they might be part of the Konchesky deal. It was widely reported that you offered us ~£1m for Dalla Valle in January but we rejected it.

Serious ?

So now you have to have a certain amount of coloured players in your squad and have to be linked to a certain amount of coloured players not to be deemed racist.

Based on your theory, Barca will be shortly only letting a few coloured fans entering the Camp Nou at a time.

Do Barca have any black fans who attend? Eto certainly got a fair amount of abuse whilst he was there and Spain doesn't have the best reputation regarding racism. The gradual whitening of the squad is something I've read about elsewhere and in numbers terms it is happening but the theory is slightly let down by Guardiola's first signing being black.

Re the lucas story.
Its not exactly true, its club PR because they want to sell.
RH doesn't like him because he apparently 'lazy in training'.
But reality is, Lucas was annoyed that Masch got into the squad ahead of him for the PL opening game, despite Masch having no pre-season, no club contact and not trying in training, as well as causing a row with Carra in the dressing room.
And this has come from Djphal who usually gets it spot on (and usually means never wrong yet), and one of my own sources.

would have been smart to sell at the START of the window however.
Going into the season with only Gerrard (who i dont rate in CM) and Poulsen (Who i dont rate full stop) is going to be depressing.

So to summarise:
Lucas doesnt want to go, he is actually happy.
He doesnt even have a family in england!
The club is spinning their PR magic *cough* because they want to sell

Laughable rumour of the two youngsters + £9m for Konchesky and Etuhu from Liverpool. Never going to happen though.

Etuhu is a great player for us, does his defensive job awesomely, but it'd be hysterical if he goes to Liverpool.

Its a shame in all honesty. Stupid American morons.
Like yourselves ;)
I agree though the 'Yanks' have ruined Liverpool really and i cant see why Hodgson went there in the first place tbh as the squad is disintegrating daily nearly and hes probably going to struggle to make a 25 if Lucas leaves.

Just back on the laptop. I've not checked on todays transfer rumours/activity and apparently Lucas wants to leave, Masc has agreed to join Barca for £17.25mill and Dalle Valle and another reserve player have agreed to leave. Wowza. Linky for Lucas story?

Knowing quite a few 'Pool supporters, it's pretty funny them trying to defend the situation; "Joe Cole is the best attacking midfielder in the premiership" for example. In footballing terms, it is pretty sad :(

No confirmation yet, I can only see that we're letting him go if we're signing another left back along with Salcido. Guess we'll find out, if he is or isn't in the team tomorrow!

£4m is pretty good imo for both parties really, he is a very solid left back, good overlapping on the wing and good defensively.

I've been completely underwhelmed by all of Liverpool's signings.

I like Roy, he's a good manager and a top bloke, just really don't see how he's going to cope with his hands tied behind his back.

Liverpool need to sell the club on, I don't think there is many people who could take over and "compete" with the spending power of City though, but I don't think really that's what Liverpool are after.

Maybe, a sound footing + money to invest each summer, wouldn't have to be astronomical, I think Roy + scouts could bring in some good players, I also think Liverpool have quite a lot over City in terms of History (okay City have none :p) and I suppose that and the name Liverpool still mean a lot to footballers :)

Anyway, my half cut opinion.

Konchesky isn't bad, he's a decent defender and solid. Strikes me as a number two at a club like Liverpool.
