***Offical Dead Rising 2 Thread***

Having said that, I can't seem to buy the full version yet. Keep getting error code returns. Pretty frustrating as I'm expecting my internet to be cut off today but I have no idea when.

As for the game itself. It's fun, the controls still feel a little sluggish but MUCH better than the first. Gun controls are better too. Can't really say much else as I have finished the free portion already, I could have gone on for longer but I went for missions instead of running around exploring.

Yeah, pretty annoying isn't it. I got it with Scott Pilgrim too. We just have to wait till they sort it out. Didn't take too long with SP.

Will download the demo tonight, and hopefully be able to get some points to buy the full game.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the full game.

Was annoying yes, but hoorah working now and having a blast... I did however just kill a whole group of survivors for being idiots... Oops!

I haven't even come across any survivors yet, just killing zombies :S I'll get back to the story now.

FFS, already mad at this game :o
Died after i get the boomstick, decided to get the handlebar by force only to die and start from the beginning. Could have sworn i saved before.

Been played this all day, took about 3.5 Hours for my first play, then just been grinding out achievements so put in around 7 hours.... Not bad for 400 points!

Played about an hour - thought it was superb. It's more of the original tbh, even the engine looks identical, as does the small resolution...

Controls are the same as ever. Only managed to get the engine and another component before I had to save up for the night. PS. Rescue the survivor on top of the van, you'll need him!

Brilliant value for 400msp I must admit.

Fun game, cut really close towards the end when i only had moments left before i failed the case. Controls are somewhat the same expect RT is now to shoot when aiming with a gun, you can also walk around whilst aiming. Game felt a bit sluggish in terms of frame rates but that might be because its just an arcade game (demo).

Seems very sluggish compared to dr1, but I assume that's because I am used to level 50 Frank.

It is more of the same and I cannot wait for the full game.

Controls are the same as ever.

Not sure how you can say that tbh, as they feel much better. When shooting, the right stick now controls the aiming, instead of the left stick as in DR1, and it's just much more natural now. If the controls were like this for DR1 it would have been even better.

Fun game though, can't wait for the full version now, and need to finish off Case Zero a few times to level up to level 5 so I can be more prepared when thee full game comes out.

It's quiet painful! And it also does a good job of ruining the atmosphere.

I hope the proper game will not suffer from this, but I fear it will. I mean if you had to wait for the game to load at every cutscene that's a great way to ruin the experience!

Dead Rising 1 was probably in my top 3 of all time faves but never got around to beating the Brock boss :o
Will definately be getting 2 :D

Played this last night, my first impressions:

  • Chuck runs too slow
  • horrible screen tear over VGA
  • seems to be too many loading screens
  • when aiming with a gun he starts off aiming at their crotch
  • controls feel a little clumsy
