***Offical Dead Rising 2 Thread***

Played this last night, my first impressions:

  • Chuck runs too slow
  • horrible screen tear over VGA
  • seems to be too many loading screens
  • when aiming with a gun he starts off aiming at their crotch
  • controls feel a little clumsy
That's some pretty negative first impressions - wasn't there anything you liked?

I'm playing it right now and think it's great in spite of some small niggles, the biggest of which (for me) is the loading times but even that isn't too big a deal as this is more Dead Rising and paint me as a fan boy but I love Dead Rising :D The full game can't come soon enough, definitely a first week (if I can't make day one) purchase for me.

The drill bucket rocks, btw :p

I agree with Thesnipergecko, it has a very sluggishfeel to the game. Hopefully once you level up he will get quicker and things will flow better.

I put this down to (as noted above) playing with a level 50 Frank West and being used to how he runs around and does all the fancy moves.

It's the load times/amount of loading screens in it that drives me nuts.

Carlito?

That boss fight is quiet hard the first time you do it. It becomes so much easier once you get the mini-shainsaws. :D

Played Case Zero at a mates last night.
Think I'll get the 360 online so I too can get a play through. I demand to rescue all survivors.

I liked the story. (Endings D and A)
Didn't think the cost was too bad for the gameplay that was offered. This offers far more gameplay time and fun than far higher priced games. (imo)
Was more of what I'd expect from Dead Rising. Controls seemed fine to me, was hard not being level 50 though...
The weapon combining was fun and the graphics are as good as ever. (All cut scenes were ruined due to Chuck having on a cowboy hat and pink dress though... :D )

I would have hoped the screen tear was gone though, that's mildly upsetting as I play over VGA. :(

Reasons to like Dead Rising...
1: Mash zombies up
2: See point 1

Played it again last night and still had a blast. This time I reached some boss who utterly trashed me :( My only real annoyance is the frequency of loading screens, but the awesome DR1 like cutscenes kinda make up for that tbh.

Glad to see that someone else likes the pink dress...

Wait for him to lunge, get about 3 cheeky hits in and run off again, rinse and repeat.

i'm heading down to london tomoz to a capcom event for dead rising 2, so will report back with my finding :P

I've had to go back to Dead Rising 1 now just to get the zombie smashing skills back to top level.
Mainly ended up just eating all the food though, needed the 10g. :|

NEED Dead Rising 2 to be released NOW!

I didn't even know I could get on the roof!

D'oh :p

Been playing this all morning, got ending F on the first attempt (:() as I thought there'd be more Zombrex around without having to buy another.

Then got Ending A on my 2nd attempt...JUST ABOUT, had 2 minutes to spare for my escape, eek!

Loving it, probably gonna play another 3 or 4 times. :D

I enjoyed it a lot. Worth the money and it's made me want to play DR1 again as I didn't give it much of a chance so even more value.

I completed DR1 all for expect like 3 achovos got all the other endings etc. But OMG was that a hard game, and the save points. Dont get me started!

Loving this already :D

Polished off the rest of the achievements for Case Zero yesterday, managing to get 1000 kills, all survivors, unlocking all doors, and managing to escape safely in a single playthrough. Have started to play DR1 again now just to remind myself of the story, and maybe to get myself set up for the final 4 achievements (Saint, Transmissionary, 5 and 7 day survivor) after I've finished it once more.

Polished it off myself with a perfect run on my 3rd playthrough on Saturday, once I figured out I hadn't been around to the back of the Sheriff's office at all.

Thinking about hitting DR1 again too. :D
