Raymond Lin's Wedding Thread of 2010

Cute Photo.

Really enjoying this thread Raymond, keep them coming!

P.S why do photos always look better when scaled down?!

I dunno? It looks sharper?

But i have printed a lot of these at 18x12 inches and trust me, they look good !!! I wanna keep and frame them...except that would be kinda weird lol

I've no idea, really but these all just have these *great photo glow* about them. Maybe my photos (only really point and shoot stuff) look rubbish because I never do any post processing. Straight into iPhoto and that's about it.

Surely it's not wrong to keep some of your best in your studio/office/computerroom?

OcUK friends discount? :D

Pictures just get better and better every time you post new ones up. Keep up the superb work! :)

In a studio where I get visitors/clients, yes.

In my house/bedroom, no. lol

And since i do not have a studio....it will be the latter, so, no. When i do test prints, i print them big, in addition to check for colours, i like to see what they look like at that size, and I am always impressed with them when they come back even though i have been staring at them on the screen for the past few weeks. They are so nice, i don't want to give them away!

Looking at Rays work and knowing he works in Lightroom I think he probably

Contrast - 100
Brightness - >100
Drop exposure to taste
Correct white balance
Add post-crop vignette if required - lay off the roundness so its more `corner` vignette.

Its a great style!

I am finally home from a brilliant wedding in Cambridge !

Just sorting them through now, and got a little back log so just a little preview

Awesome as usual Ray. My cousin recently got married and whilst looking at the photos costing 2k I thought why oh why didn't I recommend you, as quite frankly you knock the socks off of the ones my cousin got.

It's really strange but very exciting to see photos of my own wedding appearing here!

Raymond, we've thanked you personally, but I'd also like to thank you publicly on behalf of Sofi and me for being such a model professional, making us feel completely at ease around you and working tirelessly to capture some wonderful moments with barely a pause from early in the morning through to the end of the day. It was a pleasure having you at our wedding, and we are very much looking forward to seeing how the rest of your shots have turned out. :-)

(I'm glad you enjoyed the day as well! It says something about how well the day went when the photographer has a great time too!)

These photos are so good I can't wait for someone to ask me for a tog recommendation. Shame I have no friends getting married soon!

xyphic - Thanks for having me, it was my pleasure :) It was a blast !!! and what a venue !! :)

I also went to see a venue today (as it is local to me) literally no sooner as I stepped in through the door and had to go out again just in time before the sun set. So here are some images taken NOT on a wedding day.

Lol, although i might be local to you, I don't shoot specifically locally, I have yet shot inside herefordshire yet, and the next wedding is my first one.

If you give me a choice, i would shoot one in Australia, then Orange County, then Iceland, then Germany instead of home week after week. I don't mind shooting locally as it is convenient but i find new surroundings provide me with abundance of creativity, not just for that shoot but in terms of personal dedvelopment too.

Well I'm only a total beginner looking to improve. Might drop you an email as have a small proposition for you. Not sure I could deal with the spiders in Australia. :)
