Pro Evolution 2011

Does anyone actually have PES 2010 and like it? I might give that a try too as I have to wait another 3 weeks for FIFA anyway :p

Seems still issues with linking of animations and still looks abit ropey i think 2012 will be interesting at least effort being put in now.
Seriously? I think Konami have had enough chances to get it right - theres just not enough progress being made. People complain at EA for adding small updates to FIFA each year - thats far more substantial than what Konami have done especially considering their game is so woeful.

I doubt Ill bother even downloading next years demo - only did it cos Skip was raving about the updates - considering the last game he recommended was Naughty Bear Im gonna start ignoring the little **** :p

Well i still wait to play it does seem abit negative here compared to elsewhere it still needs a lot of work but it look playable in videos i seen which cant be said for last few efforts.

a lot of new animation new passing system gone into game and detail i read on BAL and Online Master League for me effort being shown now.

Will see when play it next week i been Fifa since PES 5 as been far superior game be nice to have good PES to play again. :)

I didn't recommend Naughty Bear, I only started the thread pre-release. ;)

It looks poor in comparison to FIFA 10 never mind FIFA 11. Its a shame because there was a time when both were really good. I was a PES player until I moved to FIFA 10.. then WC2010. The next football game for me will be FIFA 11 without a shadow of a doubt.

Konami need to go back to the drawing board. It has to think a few steps ahead of the EA developers... but they dont.

The guys working on FIFA have football locked down, I can't see PES ever surpassing FIFA again...dont get me wrong I would love it if they did, it would be great for us fans of football... but they won't

More I play this the more I hate it - thought I would try again at higher game speed and though it doesnt feel as lethargic as before, I feel Im in a Benny Hill sketch when it comes to looking at player run animations.

One example of just how awkward the animations are is to watch the ball as a player just runs with it (not sprints) - its like it jumps rather than rolls. Also the passing system seems tetchy, when I want to pass to nearest person even with a tap it sometimes decides I want to bypass them...

It's just not a fun game, games by their very nature should be entertaining, I'd rather watch a Jim Davidson show than play this.

Sorry for poor quality. I had to compress it so the upload didn't take forever.

EDIT: Bah! It didn't upload the whole thing! :(

Was an awesome goal.

Missing the step over to make space for a rifled shot into the top right corner.

I really like it, the game is definitely a leap forward in many ways, the passing feels much more manual now, it'll take a bit of getting used to, especially through balls! The demo was a bit annoying because there was no way to change the player selection from full-auto, I'd hope the full game will include that option, but apart from that and the 5min unskippable vid at the end of each game, I'm happy with it.
I'd imagine this demo code isn't quite indicative of the final game, so I expect the retail release to be polished further.
Let's not forget last year when the demo was a bit 'Hmmmm…' but the full game was much improved.

I'm really looking forward to it tbh, especially running through the tutorials to get a proper grip on the new passing/controls.

Put simply…

PES Goal = :D
FIFA Goal = :|

For me that's the most important thing, I've never got past the fact that scoring in FIFA feels sterile to me, but in PES it feels like something to celebrate.
That's my opinion btw, I'm sure there's plenty who feel the exact opposite, I don't want the thread descending into PES vs FIFA toss again.
If ever scoring in FIFA started to 'feel' as rewarding as PES to me, then I'd consider defecting from the PES camp, but as always I'll give the FIFA demo a go this year and give it a chance.

I guess that's your personal opinion but I am the opposite way around. In FIFA the commentary team will compliment you on your achievement, and not only that but you get to celebrate the goal however you like, with whatever celebration you choose, unlike PES which is score and then be presented with a generic camera showing your player running off. The crowd makes an effort in FIFA as well, in the PES demo I hardly noticed much difference in the standard crowd noise and the after goal crowd noise.

The opposite comes from the superior sound in FIFA. The crowd noise builds as you attack and erupts when you score. In PES, it seems to stay at a constant until you score and it increases a little. There's a lack of atmosphere in PES, but a much more rewarding feel from the actual goals.

I guess so, I think it's probably because it's harder to score in PES and when it happens there's a sense of achievement but as I don't find the tedious build up very fun I think that's why scoring still leaves me feeling a little flat. I want to try the demo again on faster game speed later to see if it makes much difference, the weird thing is I woke up this morning with the urge to play the demo despite not thinking it was all that.
