Teen Banned From US For Barracking Obama

A Bedfordshire Police spokesman said: "The individual sent an email to the White House full of abusive and threatening language.

Just in case anyone missed it.

They do tend to take threats against the president seriously over there, might be a little extreme but until I know what he actually wrote then I'll hold back from judging the FBI and America.

Their gaff, their rules. While it may sound a touch petty we have no real idea of the content of the mail.

This is why they take things like this seriously.

It's far fetched and highly unlikely but could you imagine if this kid actually went to the US and tried to kill the president, and then afterwards it came out that he had sent a threatening email first? You lot would be saying they're stupid and incompetent for ignoring it yet when they don't ignore it, they're stupid and heavy handed.

Agreed. It's the last place in world I'll ever visit. A country full of hypocrits and murderers.

Really??...well you might want to add the UK and most of the western world to that list;)....every country has its hypocrites and murderers...its not only specific to the USA.

Does this mean that if you put the random words "Obama nuclear bomb jihad assasination allah akbar" into a post online, that the FBI pick up on it and ban you from the states? I'm sure a big red light is flashing somewhere...

Seriously though, I've been to the states a few times and while it was alright, I don't think I'd be devastated at being banned, there are far more interesting places in the world ;) US Immigration can be a pain as well.

It's a little naive to take that at face value from a source as biased as the police force, since I don't know what was said I will believe the most likely situation where they consider insulting someone to be "threatening".

What a joke, they can't ban someone from a country, no government has the right to as we're all just humans living on earth, anyone can travel where they like the same as animals, humans are so childish as a species sometimes.

Centuries of border control and immigration laws say you're wrong. Still, I admire a man who sticks to his pronciples - pop over to the US without your passport and put your point of view across. Send back pictures.

The idea that people can't travel freely is surely highly questionable and absurd when you think about it?

There are many human created systems and rules that go against true freedom, borders are just one of them, people have the natural right to travel where they like and i don't see how one group can tell another they can't.

O.o

So you'd be happy for Osama Bin Laden to pop on over to the UK for a friendly visit then?

Okay, I'm being a bit silly - but of course a country has a right to "Ban" someone from visiting.

Suppose you know someone has entered the country as an illegal immigrant, you send them back out, they do it again. Do you expect the country to just let you back in and say "enjoy your stay again lolz!"

Don't know the facts of the case, but they've got the right to let in who they want. It's their country.
