New PC Build - Help Needed

I ordered the parts at 1pm today and the current order status is 'Printed in our warehouse'.

So hopefully the parts will be here tomorrow?

Do you see? Do you understand the concept of considering the OP's individual needs and budget and suggesting a bang-for-buck spec on that basis?

You have L0st ze pl0t! :eek::eek:

the guy had £1500 to spend
he doesnt want the maximum performance per pound treatment.
he wants a powerful stock system that will not break sweat.

he certainly doesnt want an i5 and have to put hours and hours
of overclocking into to get it to run "slightly" better than a stock i7.

you didnt seem to understand that the guy could afford the
best and latest, and you went against it cuz ur on i5 and
it would have made u feel better for another little while.:o

LOL every1 should go and read that thread, its pure madness
that he calls a near £1500 i5 system "bang for buck"

Edit: theres about 4 people within the first lot of posts that said stulids i7 build was spot on.
it was costing LESS than the OPs AMD build and LESS than your i5 spec. WAKE UP!!!!!

to be honest if all he's doing is gaming nothing else then i5 would proberbly be his best bet and spending a lot on graphics as in games the i5 is only a fraction than the i7 but for rendering and cpu intesive programs the i7 is a lot faster than i5 so if its just for games i5 would proberly be his best bet but 460's on that budjet is a silly idea

Current order status is: 'In our warehouse queue'.
But for some reason the 930 CPU has disappeared from their product line. Should I be worried?

The order still says 'In our warehouse queue' and the 930 CPU still isn't listed as a product on the site.
Why is this?

you probernly got the last one mate feel glad its saved you £20 i wouldnt stress if there is any problems OCUK will email you iam sure off it

Just been on the phone with OCUK and they said that the Fan Controller and Sound Card are out of stock so I've had to pick two new ones.

I picked this Fan Controller and this Sound Card.

I changed the order on the phone so I didn't have much time to pick. Does anyone know if these parts I picked are any good.

Thanks,
Hixxey

yer they look good that lian li looks good it means you'll be able to set them 1900 fans at 475,950,1425, so should be plenty quiet enuff

Just been in town to get a couple of them 3 pin extension cables, some cable ties and a tool-kit.

The extension cables don't seem very long though

Just finished putting it all together and I am installing Windows now.
I do have a few questions though.

First, where do I put the temp sensor probes?

Second, which CPU fan should I connect to the fan controller, as the main fan has 4 pins and I can't seem to find an adapter that allows that to connect to both the Mobo and the fan controller.

This isn't a question but the sound card doesn't have a chance of fitting onto the mobo with both the GFX cards attached. The PCI slot is completely covered up.

Also, the parts they said were out of stock were the parts I actually received, so that's good.

Lastly, Should I plug a monitor into each GPU or both into one?

Thanks,
Hixxey

If you've no choice but to cover up the PCI slot with GPU, better ask OCUK nicely if you can swap your PCI sound card for a PCI-e one. Hopefully wont be a problem.

OK Thanks I'll give them a ring in the morning.

Any ideas on my other issues?

Thanks,

Anyone?

Also, was there a setting I should enable in the bios for SSD?

Sorry i dont know the answers, dude. Never used a fan controller or setup multi displays on an SLI build. I would have thought a SATA SSD should be picked up in BIOS as a normal HDD. Is that not the case? The manual ought to have instructions on the temperature probes, no? Generally you want the tip of a thermocouple to be mounted on whatever it is you're trying to measure the temperature of :)
