You can do xml in notepad, just don't do what I did and end up saving it as a .txt file

The Flops are weird my 470 has a low number to must be a fermi thing

Very weird......must be a Win7 thingy.

My 470's register @ 1267Gflops (WinXP 64) and my 460's @ 762Gflops (WinXP 32).

right the 280 is in...its a lot louder than the 460!!

258.96 is the driver number im getting from the nvidia site, are yours beta?

Yup

Using beta drivers - had no issues on 32 or 64 bit WinXP

Running also on Win7 64 with no issues

ill give them a try. im not sure why the 280 isnt being used in boinc though. it says not used in the messages within boinc.

Did you use the option in the config file for use all gpu's?

You also need to fully stop/exit boinc and restart it - then it should use all gpu's

ive just updated the drivers.

i copied and pasted the text, i didnt alter it at all.let me restart my machine.

ive just restarted my machine and its still not using the 280.

I take it you called the file:

cc_config.xml

and it's contents are:

<cc_config>
<options>
<use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
</options>
</cc_config>

and it's location is:

For WinXP:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC

or

For Win7:
C:\ProgramData\BOINC\

Once this is done restart Boinc and things should be ok.

If not - try with just the 280 to make sure it's ok.

Best to disable Boinc in the msconifig whilst your messing about (until you're happy).

Failing that.....

You may have to extend your desktop to the second gpu (but I thought this issue had been resolved with the latest drivers)

3rd GPU & 2nd wc loop running (absolutely no leaks)

603 watts at peak - about 80 watts more than I expected. Having to back the overclocks off a little - not sure why yet (still erroring the odd task). Still, looking good to 'burn in' and finish collecting all the air bubbles in the res' before I break my back again and top off the loop'

ive had a look at the config file and all looks ok.

its beer oclock so ill not tempt fate by unplugging cards. msi afterburner detects the 280 ok though. i havent got these cards in sli, i dont know if it makes a difference or not.
how do i extend the desktop to the 280?

Do a quick search in Windows Help......

Or:

1.Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
2.Open Display in the Control Panel.
3.Click Change display settings in the Display window.
4.Set the Multiple displays drop-down box to Extend these displays and then click OK.
5.If everything looks OK, click Keep changes.

You don;t want to bridge the cards for SLI as fas as I'm aware. Certainly, if you do, I think you will need to disable it in the Nvidia Control Panel for crunching....

Re the desktop, what OS are you running?

something is a miss at the moment as ive just tried to let my friend play call of duty and its as laggy as hell.

I think ill call it a day and have a look tomorrow witha a fresh pair of eyes.

Must admit, running games is beyond me Perhaps Marine can chime in, he's running 2 GPUs, 1 Fermi 1 2 series..........
