Happy days again, seems I've uploaded overnight and got some new work. Got to clear out a weeks worth of Einstien on one machine but otherwise it's hopefully back to normal for the w/e.

Bad luck on the hardware TB :( Let's hope they let you keep that credit as compensation ;)


Edit: Darn it, spoke to soon. The 2 machines I checked have uploaded (one still had SETI WUs the other was doing MW and Einstien) the other 2 with no work haven't updated :(

All task reported and detached re-attached but the servers are maxed out so can't really get anything will turn off till next week I think once everything has settled down that and I have the F1 2010 game to play so :D
 
Nice going picnic !! I couldn't give a rats azz about the hardware the only thing i could think of was the boinc data folder :)

Well last night I couldn't get any pending to show, so Im presuming it had reached that limit where it was too many to show :-)
It is at 650K right now, so Im expecting a nice big credit dump sometime over the next two days..

I cant decide what to do now..

I have thousands of ghosts, and I have over 1000 vlars still to crunch

Do I

Set to No New Tasks, switch the vlars over to the GPU, lose some RAC as it will be one wu per gpu rather than 3 and they take 75 mins each, let Reaver overtake me and crunch through them on the cpu + gpu? Then detach re-attach..
Or
Just forget about the ghosts, and carry on crunching as they will time out eventually..

I can see how it might be tempting but you and Mr Reaver are forever swapping cells anyway, i'd crunch em for a while and see how desperate you feel in a day or so :)

I have my gtx 460 and this afternoon i will be fitting it. Is there anything in particular i need to do? i dont have an sli board but i would like to use my gtx280 to run seti as well. I see Mr iguana has a similar setup, would you care to shed any light on it for me?

I have a load, and I fully intend to get rid of them, BUT, I will only do it if I can time it right (ie, on a Monday, with an empty cache). I still have over 400 VLARs to process, and have just moved all but the VLARs to the GPUs. I'm aiming to clear out a week on Monday - just hope I don;t get another VLAR shower in the meantime.
 
No GPU units:( What little cpu wu's I'm getting most are VLAR's.

hi , i have a question - or rather a problem ,

since upgrading my wife`s pc to win7 - seti is now saying it cant use the 8600GT as it it only has 240MB of ram and 254 is the minimum;

any ideas as what could be wrong? was working fine under XP and the car has 256MB of ram

I have read of similar problems on the S@H forums. I'm afraid there is nothing that can be done; I can't remember the specifics but for some reason, as far as Win 7 is concerned, GPUs with 256MB of RAM actuallt have slightly less and S@H gets its memory information from the OS......

It looks like they've turned on the server-side limits to ensure everyone gets at least some work. The 'tasks in progress' does not differentiate between CPU and GPU as far as I know, so you hit the limit based upon the total number of tasks you have on your client. We should see these limits being lifted incrementally over the coming days, and hopefully, just before the next outage, they will lift the limits completely.

If you want to use both cards you need to create a xml file in

C:\ProgramData\BOINC called cc_config.xml

and put this in it and you should have both cards working I hope :D

thanks for replying... ill have a look, my 280 is looking sad on the carpet at the moment. Currently im using the lunatics unified installer .37 is this still ok?

Lunatics .37 is right

You can do xml in notepad, just don't do what I did and end up saving it as a .txt file :D

The Flops are weird my 470 has a low number to must be a fermi thing :p
