The New Stargate Universe Thread

I actually liked the first few seasons of SGA, but by the time we had reached the 5th series, it really had lost a lot of the interesting storylines.

SGU, I think, was needed and is very interesting.
 
Well, the latest episode is rather good, but I like Stargate anyway though :p
 
oh, only just found out that tomorrow is the day for the start of season 2. woop woop!! that makes Tuesday night interesting again..

Oh, and Lt Boobs is awesome :)

I actually think Chloe has a nicer face, but Lt Boobs has a nicer physique.

The thing is that when Lt Boobs wears a tight top, I don't even bother looking at her face. In fact, when Lt Boobs is wearing a tight top I'm not looking at anybody's face.
 
any idea how big the destiny ship is, when you see the scenes of the ship it looks like its bigger than atlantis was and that was the size of a city
 
doubt its bigger than atlantis :S

aparently atlantis is roughly the size of manhattan and the piers are 1 mile long.
atlantis central tower was aparently 70+ stories tall.

destiny is 2-3 miles long based on guestimates.

surely home of the ancients which requires loads of living space is bigger than an exploration ship anyway

So ... what did you lot think of the 2nd season opener - I quite liked it, although they did perhaps resolve the whole "situation" a little fast but at least we've got some progression!
 
I'm pretty sure that they've worked it out, that destiny isn't as large as some people think it is, coming in at quite a small 750m nose to tail..

According to stargate magazine
Destiny is -
*Length:2450 feet approx
*Width :1700 feet pseudo wing tip/tip
*Height:Not stated but proportionally approx 300 feet.

I felt the episode was a bit on the boring side and everything was wrapped up a bit too neatly (especially that bit about them being on the underside of the ship). Also, everyone seemed to ignore I've-just-recovered-from-a-fatal-gunshot-wound-girl when they probably should have been a teensey bit concerned (Have they not seen the trailers like the rest of us! :p) Wonder what the future holds for the Maquis, er I mean Lucien Alliance.

They also played a song, fair enough it was the excellent Mumford and Sons but there's still too much OC in my Stargate for my liking :(
