Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Thanks!
Looking forward to seeing it tomorrow.

I've noticed from the pictures it has Hankook V12 tyres. At first I thought it might not be a well looked after example (cheap tyres etc) but after looking on CS I can see that these are recommended by a lot of people.

Has anybody got these fitted or have any thoughts on them?

Hi guys,

I'm off to look at an arctic blue 182FF at a local dealer on Saturday. It's got both cup packs, full service history (with belts done a few months ago), 52000 miles and is up for £5k.

Is this a fair price or do you reckon I could knock them down a bit? If so, what would be a fair price?

What I paid for mine back in July. Always room for movement ;)

Just try not to seem too excited or bothered by that particular example and have a look at some other examples near by and see what they're going for as use this to haggle.

Maccy's friend had them fitted to his 182. Said they performed similar to the PE2's but with a less crashy ride. Can't really complain at half the price of a PE2!

I don't mind that but like has been said above you'd need to buy a new licence for yourself then a second licence to get it back
to how it was. By the sounds of it that would cost about 100 euros.

Would be cheaper for you to buy and sell the rstuner and only pay for the one licence for
yourself. It's up to you doesn't make much difference to me to be honest as I'll
be selling it on anyway afterwards.

If we did them on the same day I could do mine first, then you do yours and that leaves the tuner registered to you :)

Let me know what happens with the auction anyway bud :)

Ahh I see. Sounds good to me, the bidding is only £3 off my maximum bid at the moment so can see it needing to be raised a little!

Is your 182 standard? I'm hoping its got a milltek so I can hear it before I buy one myself.

Wooo, insurance renewal time!

My renewal quote is thorugh, and it starts with a '1'... and then 3 more digits!

Been and hunted around and still the best is £746! :(

Not going to be buying any wheels any time soon then...

Try Sky Insurance and Chris Knott, ring one, and then call the other, they will beat each other, di did and i got it knocked down a lot more!

Mine is a phase 1 172 and its completely standard apart from the badboy rear silencer that the previous owner fitted.

So, I got myself a Locked rstuner. One thing indont
understand is the difference between the .cal and the .rst files?

I can see where I buy the .cal files but not
the .rst files

@DogsBody - I'm going to sell my rstuner on when I'm finished with it so I will sort my car out first then, if you buy the licence and files for your own car, you can use it and I will just sell the rstuner on still locked onto your car.

Simplest way to look at it is that the .rst file is the firmware of the entire ECU (including the calibrations). The .cal file is basically the settings. Unless your ECU is running old firmware you shouldn't need to bother with the .rst files. I would take a backup of your current .cal though before you upgrade to the performance one, just in case.

Paid a deposit on this yesteday!

Managed to get it for £4700 so not a bad price I think! Tried to get them down to £4500 but they wouldn't budge anymore!

The car is immaculate not a single dent, scratch or even swirl mark! I got told it's been owned by a 'Renault nerd' who swapped it for a Megane 225.

I've got warranty with it so going to get it booked into northwest performance when I pick it up and get them to give it a once over.

I pick it up Friday afternoon so it's gonna be a slow week!

Thanks, how would I know if it's old though?

The RSTuner software will tell you the firmware version, early 182's will have 8100_7803 software or similar (mine did). The latest version is 8200_7804. There are no .cals for the 8100 software anymore, so you'll need to update with the 8200_7804 firmware (.rst) before updating with the performance .cal. It will become clear when you do it. There are differences in firmware between the 172 and 182, so double check versions before you go ahead (basically look for your cars revision and download the appropriate files, 182s should be CB22.

If you want the latest .rst and .cal files without paying for them, drop me an email in my trust.
