Who here owns a Renaultsport?

As has been said, you're probably looking at around 110 euros to remap a 172/182 with a borrowed RSTuner. This would be for 2 x licenses and the download of the performance .cal file. Its still a lot cheaper than having it done at a specialist garage though.

have you done this?
make any difference to a standard 172 ? (all that i have changed is the air filter to have that nice roar)

How come you need 2 licenses ?

If you want to upload a map you also have to buy a new license for the RSTuner to work on your car, and I imagine a new license for the person you're borrowing it from in order for them to use it on their car again. The license is about 50 Euros.

Yup I know about this.
Sorry I should have made it more clear in my post, if a couple of us got together the extra license needed to transfer it back to the original owner could be split between a few of us making it even cheaper.
I dont mind chucking a few quid your way if you are willing to help me out getting a new map onto my car :)

How come you need 2 licenses ?

RS Tuners only work with 1 car at a time, so need to be re 'licensed' back to the owners car if they want to have a go.

However, I was under the impression licenses were car specific, and could be re used to put a tuner back to a previous car? So no extra cost?

I'm fairly certain you need a new license every time, therefore if 5 people got together, you'd need 5 licenses, plus 1 license for the RSTuner owner.

It's not worth it. Just buy an RSTuner 2nd hand from ClioSport for around £100, do it all yourself (it's easy), then sell it on again. It'll end up only cost 50 Euros odd for the license and 10-15 Euros for the map itself.

Are there any for sale atm? I'm
guessing you need to be a paid member to view the for sale bit?

Edit : dogsbody - there's one on eBay that I'm watching and will be buying but there is 2 days left on the auction. If I get it I will offer it to you for whatever I pay for it. All it will cost us then is the map and licence which will be about £60.

I bought a RSTuner a few years back and have gone through a few revisions of the performance .cal file on my 182. To be honest i actually quite liked the cars standard map with the pronounced 5K kick, which you lose to an extent when you remap it. I feel the character of the car changes a little with the RSTuner map, that being said im running the most recent of the performance .cals downloaded from the website.

tbh bud I'm only 30 minutes from Stoke I'd be happy to drive down and do the remap that way if you are happy with that, I'll bung you a few beer tokens of course ;)

I don't mind that but like has been said above you'd need to buy a new licence for yourself then a second licence to get it back
to how it was. By the sounds of it that would cost about 100 euros.

Would be cheaper for you to buy and sell the rstuner and only pay for the one licence for
yourself. It's up to you doesn't make much difference to me to be honest as I'll
be selling it on anyway afterwards.

Hi guys,

I'm off to look at an arctic blue 182FF at a local dealer on Saturday. It's got both cup packs, full service history (with belts done a few months ago), 52000 miles and is up for £5k.

Is this a fair price or do you reckon I could knock them down a bit? If so, what would be a fair price?

Yeh my first aim was knock them down 500 and go from there! The salesman told me he took it as part ex against a megane 225 so I think 4500 is a good price considering part ex prices are currently around 3k!

Wooo, insurance renewal time!

My renewal quote is thorugh, and it starts with a '1'... and then 3 more digits!

Been and hunted around and still the best is £746! :(

Not going to be buying any wheels any time soon then...
