Who here owns a Renaultsport?

So, I got myself a Locked rstuner. One thing indont
understand is the difference between the .cal and the .rst files?

I can see where I buy the .cal files but not
the .rst files

@dogsbody - I'm going to sell my rstuner on when I'm finished with it so I will sort my car out first then, if you buy the licence and files for your own car, you can use it and I will just sell the rstuner on still locked onto your car.

Ok cool.
That would be appreciated:)

When would be best to do it, mid week or weekend ?
I could be in stoke pretty much any night this week by about 7:30 - 8pm

Well I got an email last night from the seller
saying he'd email it this morning second class so I'm guessing it will arrive on Wednesday. On the fastchips site it states that the licence key takes 48 hours to arrive. I can't send off for this until I plug the rs tuner into my computer to retrieve the code I need to give them. So that will probably take me up to the weekend until I get my car done. I'll probably take a couple
of days to make sure I'm
happy with it then I can email you the code that you need to get your licence. Will be 48 hours before you get the unlock code back via email from fastchips so it's looking likely to be the end of next week of that's ok? I'll keep in touch on here though and we can sort something out to suit us both next week. I'm in sneyd green, Stoke on Trent btw.

That is awesome, really appreciate that.
If you need to e-mail me it is [email protected]

Whats the current rev limit on your 182 when warm mr tommo ? You may find that its already been mapped by an RSTuner, if it has it'll rev to 7500 rather than 7250. The RSTuner software will also show a history of the maps and any by an RSTuner will be listed. It would be worth checking this before diving straight into the remap.

I honestly couldn't tell you, I've not hit the limiter in my car. I will check tonight though. The main reason the remap appeals to me is sorting the lumpy cold starts and a little more eagerness low down the rev range.

You will be. The whole car just pulls so much better across the whole range. I still get a bit of a surge above 5k.

It's not just in your head either as where I usually experienced lag at low revs I found myself getting thrown back a little from the unexpected power.

Makes the car much more driveable as opposed to coughing and spluttering due to being underpowered :)

Going to pick up a 182 tomorrow hopefully, can someone please inform me of the standard wheel size of the 182 cup style anthracite alloys?

Is it 205/45/R16?

It needs two new front tyres as they are pants and dont want to be ditching it anytime soon!

Danke

205/45/16, splendid thanks tommo let the tyre shopping begin :D

Edit, what do people recommend , i'm willing to spend up to around £200 as i want something quality, geadyear f1's? cs3's?

Michelin PE2's or PS3's which can now be had in the correct tyre size (and are the recommended replacement for the PE2's on the 182 as they are no longer being made). They will cost more than £100 a corner fitted though. Im currently running Eagle F1 GSD3's but on balance preferred the PE2's which was the standard tyre for the car.

Head over to CS as this question is asked every week!

If you don't want to give your left nut to have PE2's then the next most favourable option is the Hankook V12 Evo's which are considerably cheaper.

Can't comment myself as I've not needed to change the rubber on my 182 since owning it. Though it's wrapped with PE2's atm and can't fault them at all.

Could do with a little help with my RS Tuner guys. Henk took around 2 days to reply to my last email but if anyone here knows what they are doing I'd happily listen.

Plugged the RS Tuner into my car..

VIN = VF1CB22xxxxxxxx

Software Version - 8100

Calibration version - 7803

Am I right in thinking that I need this? http://www.fastchip.nl/Clio-2/cal_8200_7804_RON98/Detailed-product-flyer.html

Does that include everything I need? (.rst & .cal?)

Just picked my 182 up this afternoon. Made up with it!

Well...I was until I just got in it and spotted the engine management light! Plugged my reader in and it's thrown up error P0130 so it seems like a lambda sensor so it's gonna have to go back tomorrow!
