Need for Speed Hot Pursuit

i've read in forums.. some guy has emailed EA.. and they basically said if enough people MOAN about it they will release a patch for AA.. so there's a hope..

thanks dirtydog, this is very helpful, but i got a feeling time trial maybe less demanding, as I do find in freedrive for example (not done any time trial yet) that frame rate is pretty solid, so could you please try and do this recording on the very first race in the game (the one with the porsche and the coastal road -west)

Thanks mate.

Si.

deferred rendering mate, not a chance on MSAA support for older generation cards (e.g. ATI 48xx series and below).

EA support promise anything to shut people up.

Roadsters Reborn?

Okay, 4 cores:
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
12985, 217316, 47, 62, 59.752

2 cores: (0 and 1)
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
13194, 220620, 51, 62, 59.804

blimey charlie, looks like it doesn't need more than 2 cores then. Thanks so much for doing this test mate, it's saved me some cash ;)

Looks like it's either an ATi issue, an issue with some other hardware of mine, or perhaps it's my framebuffer being 512MB.... But it makes no sense why dropping resolution and graphic options makes no difference.

I definetly think this game runs better on NVidia :)

I would concur with that (as well as some odd CPU issues)...................a 5970 and 975 should be tearing this game up for breakfast, but that's not the case for myself.
Frequently at 60fps no problems, just as frequent well below it.........very inconsistent behavior which is quite frankly ruining the game for me.

The link is fine :) Yes it is good they are looking into it. I can see how it is possible they may have missed it in testing, when it doesn't affect all quads or even all Core2 quads. It remains to be seen what the common denominator is for people experiencing crashes.

It will be interesting to find out. I've tried reinstalling almost everything apart from directx (pain in the * to backdate it) and still no luck.

Cheers, it's good to know other people are having a problem with ATI gpu's, let's just hope it can be fixed with a driver release and/or game patch.

I got the game on PS3 as well, and whilst it looks pants compared to PC, at least it runs at 30fps constant. Frame rate drops in racers really ruin the immersion for me, and what makes it worse is that this game is so good.

PC patch expected next week :

Thanks to everyone who has helped us track down the problems that have been heavily reported on these forums.

I'm pleased to be able to update you on the patch that will be forthcoming early next week.

Mulit-Core CPU's
We've now located and fixed the problem that players were reporting where the game would crash on Car Select, Map Screen, Loading screen or just at the start of an event. Interestingly we're actually intrigued that the game works at all after our investigations with the problem actually manifesting itself in code that we shipped as part of Burnout Paradise.

We've also taken the opportunity to address a couple of other reported problems.

Missing Rain / Snow and Corona effects
This have been fixed

CL Eye Driver crashing the game on startup
Fixed.

Corrupted Dreamshots in non 16:9 aspect ratios
Fixed.

We've also added D-BOX motion chair support.

Once again, thanks to all the players who helped us track down and identify the problem. We'll detail exactly when the patch will be available as soon as we can. As I said, it's likely to be early next week, but we need to go through the testing and certification systems that are in place prior to release.

Great to see their fixing this especially the weather VFX but bad to see once again they knowingly put out a PC game to let the customers beta test it for them ;)

Good news :) Shame there's no mention of the sound volume issue but it's great that everyone will be able to play it at last, and it will be nice to see the rain and snow which I haven't seen yet!

Thanks for the heads up :) The patch works on my EA Store version of the game.

I see rain is now working (although it looks average compared to the rain effects in Most Wanted or even Underground 2 but never mind!) - I'm not sure what other differences there are though. Luckily the game ran well for me already so there wasn't much room for improvement there.
