Does buying the MoM expansion actually give you VIP status for 1 month? I was always under the impression that the MoM expansion by itself doesnt give VIP status as it doesnt come with 30 days free and that only the SoA+MoM package gives VIP for 1 month due to the 30 days free that it comes with.

Handy if it does, but do remember that after the free 30 days the VIP status will be reduced back down to Premium status (unless you do the monthly subscription of course)

EDIT : Been reading up and it looks like I was right, as MoM standard expansion doesnt come with 30 days free you dont get VIP status for a month, it does however raise you to Premium of course. There is a MoM deluxe (or collectors) edition which does come with 30 days free, which will give you VIP status for 1 month though. So anyone buying the MoM expansion at retail, make sure which version you are buying. (as mentioned earlier , whichever one you get the account will be Premium at the end of the month rather than VIP of course)

really enjoying this now, even though im running near to end of the f2p amount of quests, im really happy the way my character turned out, at first my champion was struggling against any group more than 1, now ive got plenty of skills, im only level 18 and taking on groups of level 20-22 fairly easy, his AOE effect attacks are great.

yeah from all the mmos ive played this is the only one i think you just cant go wrong with any class tbh. Like in WoW i just cant play a warrior or melee class, its too boring, but in this the champion and guardian are really fun to play, as are all the other classes.

Hunter is the single worst class in the game by far, for a year they had so much more damage than everyone, plus travel, that they were awesome, they are pretty much the only class with no major changes from the beginning, travel for every other class is hugely improved and every other class is FAR more interesting to play.

So you only played them for their overpowered DPS (which needed toning down) and travel (which is still in there exactly as it was with more locations)? Boring class to play yet I've got almost 4 full quickbars of options not counting travel locations.

We must be playing a different Hunter class, mine was happily able to take down level 58 rare elites in Moria at level 60, I dont' consider that underpowered, any city and many major towns are just one button away. The range of skills and abilities open to me are quite frankly superb, none of them are overpowered but they're all useful! The only thing I seem I to agree with you on is the lack of any morale heal on our ranged or melee skills which doesn't rely on parry!

There isn't a single class in LOTRO which isn't great fun to play, if it matches the way you envisage playing it. Hunter is no different.

what level could you afford a horse? Running to places in ered luin was ok was but now in bree its so slow, i purchased the horse thing for 95 turbine points, but i think horses are 500 silver, ive got about 10 silver atm which im just spending on skills (i just arrived at bree, level 16, loads of skills still to buy, unless im missing some area in erud luin i should have done).

I guess it's down to mature players with loads of money, but I found it really easy to make money with Explorer selling ingots and wood. Made 500s to buy horse at level 12, and now back up to about 1g at level 15. I'm not even actively searching for resources, just picking them up as I come across them.

So - if you've been collecting some stuff, see how much you can sell it for to fund your horse.

only started this the other day and ive played 18 hours already hehe, also just downloaded the films as it got me in the mood for watching them :p

Couldn't agree more mate, I found explorer to be very good for money making, picking up ore and wood as you explore the world and either refining it yourself or selling it on first both make you a fair whack of cash. Prices are so high now that I'm having to run about collecting more to skill up as I can't afford to buy it ont he AH!! :D

wonder if someone could help me out, i chose explorer too and im in need of money, but all i can do is get small rowan branches and nothing else, how do i get to journeyman?

Talk to the craft npc guy , like the one in the crafting hall in Bree. He will give you a book to read, use the book in your backpack and it will upgrade your craft skill to allow Journeyman

Explorer is one of the crafting professions you can get on your char. It lets you collect ore, wood and has tailor.

tombstone whats your ingame name?

and thanks, will visit a craft npc guy and get that sorted :)

Im currently level 20, i guess i'll start to run out of quests soon, im still doing quests in the barrow downs, not sure where to head after.

Anyone else find this game is actually very populated, whenver i started a new character on wow id rarely see people about when doing quests, but on this people are everywhere i go, there was like 15 people in the barrow downs, and bree is packed!
