***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

I've got the real XJ13, not the chrome line edition (well actually I have that too). The chrome line freebie hasn't got a date on it so the game won't allow you to use it for that race, my XJ13 is the proper one from 1966 so it's fair game :)

edit: I also tried those settings for nascar a few pages back. For one or two races they sort of worked, everything else was a massive ballsup lol That was my b-spec driver though, I'd probably do better with those settings if I drove the races myself (haven't got the enthusiasm together yet). My b-spec idiot of a driver managed to scrape through with first place overall though even though he came in last in two races, thanks to the other drivers all coming in with different positions through each race so no one driver had a major advantage in points.

B-Spec getting extremely easy now, just putting 2 drivers in endurance races and checking back every 30-60 minutes to pit them, Not sure how I'm going to manage the 24 hour ones though!

You don't even need two drivers. I've only got one and I've done most of the B-Spec endurance races, all first time as well. They are silly easy.

Don't even need to do that really, just set them to pit in at 10% strength, they'll automatically cycle through your drivers in turn so they each get a fair go on the track and give the earlier drivers time to recover before going out again.

The one car per day limit is really frustrating. They should at least make it 3 per day or something. Otherwise I'd have been happy to lend my Murcielago/Gallardo.

Just got this pickle installing. Gonna be up all night doing licences I reckon :)

This thread is huge so I'm not going to get through the lot, any tips at all for a fresh start? Any preferable order to doing races or events etc, or should I just get stuck in??

Cheers :)

I done as much of the Special Events and Licences as i could straight away.. Got my leveling up, free cars and loads of cash fast

Licenses are good for free cars and experience, special events are good for money and experience (and free cars eventually when you start completing them). Other than this, just get stuck in :D If you can stand b-spec then you can get some useful cars to use in other events as prize cars from that too.

edit: also, special events only pay out once per trophy (bronze, silver, gold, stackable if you get the gold straight away), so don't bother trying to do them again for more cash ;)

I've got a gallardo running 677bhp@88. Add me and I'll send it over, chuck it back when you are done :)

Psn: iams1mon

Radiosity, I've sent you a request, I'll give the jag a go please!

Ok :) Soon as I finish this endurance race (just before midnight if my maths doesn't suck) I'll add you and send it over.

edit: Actually, since the guy who wanted the Toyota 7 (on another forum) hasn't been in touch at all you can borrow that if you prefer, it's a guaranteed winner on A-spec. Up to you :) I've got a stage 3 turbo on it too so it's beefier than the other 7s in the event.
