January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

It appears so. He reportedly told Holloway that he wants to join Liverpool before the Sunderland game at the weekend. Hope we don't push the deal through too quickly though, wouldn't mind seeing him help Blackpool beat Utd first ;)
That leave us with less than a week to find a replacement if the deal falls through. It's cutting things very fine.

There might not be a replacement if Suarez doesn't join. Talk is that Suarez has been specifically picked out and if the right player isn't available (at the right price), we'll wait until the summer.

Now is that out of bitterness or do you genuinely think you can catch up with United... :p

Just when you thought Charlie Adam was happy in the Premiership.. :p

Surprising, thought they would put in the above and beyond performances until at least the end of the season before jumping ship.

Apparently no direct relation to the club, which is I guess why I hadn't heard of it. I shall look in the local offy for it forthwith.

So the only way we're going to beat Barcelona, one of the few teams in the world who are already shorter than us, is by buying more tall players, and conceding a man to them in midfield, an area which is quite blatantly their strongest?

No wonder you're such a tactical genius.

Could you please show me where, in everything I said, the key to beating Barcelona was tall wingers? No, because I didn't, as for tactical genius, your plan then, is to crowd out the best midfield in the world with 5 not as good players. Now how did that work for Arsenal last time, how did that work for, errm, Real Madrid.

Ipswich midfield aren't a patch on Arsenal's midfield, now did they choose to fight us in midfield? Or did they choose to fight us in our final 3rd and quite simply not play in midfield at all? Their midfield is the best in the world, the tactical option to beat them is, to not play against their midfield. Considering their fullbacks get VERY high with almost every attack, and Puyol/Pique get often into the opposition half and very wide and Pique is quite simply utter crap, the smart move to play Barcelona is to play over the top.

Again I'll point out, I didn't suggest ANYTHING about how to play Barcelona before, I simply said why buy another short winger. 5'11 isn't that short, Theo's actually 5'9 which is surprising, Pienaar is 5'11, they are all regarded as short as 6' and above is pretty common these days.

However most of Arsenal's midfield is considered on the "short" side, how many short "wingers" do the club need, I'm also under the impression he's much more of a central and high up the pitch player whose been moved out wide, like all of our "wingers" which is why I questioned the need for yet another striker/central midfielder who's fairly small, which is basically what the majority of our midfield is made up of right now.

:/

SRSLY?

AS Skippi suggests, not very good technique, for me at Everton he was often trying the right things, making the right runs at the right time into the box(or thats how it felt) but he wasn't actually very good at doing the next bit, hitting the ball, crossing it, passing it, technique is what he lacks most.

Incredibly average player, who its suggested went to Spurs where he'll get siginificantly less playing time, for 10k more per week and a much bigger signing on bonus, which is exactly what everyone expected from him before he signed anywhere.

Erm, to play the long ball wouldn't you a) need more than one player that can actually head for **** and b) not be short passing, ball-on-the-turf, 'try and pass the ball into the net' Arsenal in the first place?

Big Sam, is that you?

Could he not sit in front of the back four? You could play Lucas and Mireelselses? (can't spell his name :p ) a bit more forward.

classic Holloway on SSN just now. He is one unhappy bunny. Adams wants to go to Liverpool - Comolli called the chairman last night and he couldnt understand a word Comolli said - LOL. Tbh i think he is throwing his toys out the pram now - he is delibrately making as bigger deal about it as he can so that he gets top dollar for him. He doesnt have to say liverpool this, Aston Villa that everyday. None of the other clubs are.

But for comedy value its great.
