January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

It's just been announced on SSN.

Cheers watching the match so changing over to SSN now

EDIT its on the club website now too.

Ajax have rejected a £12.7m bid for Suarez - they want something in the line of £27m like Dzeko cost to go to Man City. Maybe money from the Babel transfer will go towards it who knows - but i wouldnt be happy spending all this money on him when the defense needs strenghtening too IMO. All january prices are inflated anyway.

I'm not quite sure what that has to do with Holloway being ****ed off though, which was my original point.

Holloway can't take the moral high ground when Blackpool have ****ed Adam about in the past. He should count himself lucky that Adam didn't kick up a fuss in the summer, and he certainly shouldn't be banging on about how much he's worth while only paying him peanuts.

I'm not surprised with what Holloway's come out with, that's the character he is, but he's (in his own words) wrong!

Dalglish said today he was going nowhere...have you got a link?

Reportedly Babel had a change of heart and accepted the Hoffenheim offer this afternoon. I suspect his decision may have been influenced by Comolli's meeting in Holland today, which may have ended any hope of him returning to Ajax.

I don't buy into this idea that Comolli went all the way to Holland if we were still €15m apart after over a week of talks though. There's no chance either side would have bothered to meet until we're talking in the same ballpark.
He's a nut job fo sho but you can't blame him for not wanting to lose his best player.

I can understand his disappointment and respect their decision to reject any bid that they don't think is acceptable, but while his reaction is funny, he's gone ott.

What the hell are Arsenal playing at, flirting with Chamberlain who we don't need, meanwhile Wheater was available at ~£3m (say +£1m for big club tax).

He can love the club but want to play at a higher level with a bigger club though, whilst still acknowledging Blackpool / Holloway? Does still beg the question why he would want to move to 'pool though... ;)

Guess it depends how you define love, I suppose people filing for divorce because they fancy shagging someone better looking can still love each other, but it just doesn't ring true for me in this case, just sounds like Holloway enjoying his media attention and trying to get more cash for his player.

Yeah, he loves Blackpool so much he wants to play somewhere else and he took them to court the season before.

Well, in a way I can see where Charlie Adam is coming from. He's never going to get a big pay day at Blackpool, he's already 25 and most modern players' career tails off at around 34. If he doesn't get his big pay day now he might not ever get one, especially if Blackpool stay up. Putting in a transfer request doesn't always mean you hate the club you're at. There's also the possibility that his agent is whispering into his ear, knowing that any transfer will inevitably include a signing on bonus, of which he'll get a slice.

Adam has been given the option to join a big historic club, with a higher quality of players.

He'll be playing a better standard of football, with better facilities, better coaches and will be earning quite a bit more I'd imagine for doing this.

Crazy to not go.

Sounds like Ajax have been unimpressed and are suggesting Comolli's been speaking with Suarez/his agent without permission and that might well be why Comolli was over there.

So do Liverpool have money to spend, or not, its very unclear at the moment. During the takeover it sounded like they had money but he'd be buying with a little bit of sanity and not spending that much, IE no 300million spent, or thats the impression I got. Then early transfer window it didn't seem like Liverpool were in a rush to get things sorted, which again is madness, if they plan to get 3-4 new players then Jan 1st vs jan 30th could mean the difference between 0 and 12 points being gained, and Europa football, or nothing next season.

IT all seemed very quiet, then Liverpool suggest there is money to buy, maybe loads of it, and Suarez talks start, and now we're hearing they are low balling the bid, massively and Ajax aren't impressed at all.

Suarez has 2.5years on his contract, is their top scorer and top assister for 3 years, is their best player and was one of two instrumental players in getting a half decent team to 3rd in the world cup, he isn't going cheap so why offer THAT low, is it all they have?
