January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

If Messi ever gets sold, I honestly can't see him getting sold for anything under 100m... saying that, I don't think any other team in the world is good enough for him but Barca.

Dont sign Adams, They need to put that cash to the rejected 12.7m bid on Suarez...

Can't believe LP thought 12m would get them Suarez. He is in the 25-30m range. I rate him higher than Torres, actually, sell Torres in the summer and buy Suarez and another striker with the money.

there were threats of that nature (or so the press reported) if the bonus wasnt paid

Even so - whether its for a transfer or not, its still kicking up a fuss (imo of course) :)

Jesus Christ Frank! Read what we were talking about and the context that kicking up a fuss was used!

You really think Comolli flew out to Holland to meet with Ajax if we were still £12m apart on our valuations? :o

lol :o

He is performing better than Torres at the moment anyway.

Suarez
2007– Ajax 108apps (81) goals

Torres
2007– Liverpool 101apps (65) goals

No doubting Suarez he has a good record and a great prospect, but you have to compare the leagues too, they are miles apart.

As a comparison check out Dirk Kuyt when at Feyenoord

2003–2006 101 appearences 71 goals

So he is better than torres too?

Nistelrooy had a better game:goal ratio than Kezman.

Indeed:

1998–2001 PSV Eindhoven 67 appearences (62) goals
2001–2006 Manchester United 150 (95)
2006–2010 Real Madrid 68 (46)

What a machine - can see why mourinho wants him back. Great player, dont think he really got the credit he deserved.

Not buying it. You'll change your opinion as soon as Suarez moves to one of the big leagues imo. Suarez is good, potentially great, but Torres is amongst the world's best.

The only problem with Torres is his fitness. When fit and on song he's as good as anyone I've ever seen.

Kakuta having a medical at Fulham - odd move, not sure where he'll fit in, we do need some creativity, but not sure how he'll get into the team.

His fitness problems get exaggerated. Since he joined Liverpool he's played more league games than Drogba and only 1 less than Rooney.

Neither Drogba or Rooney have a great record of staying away from injuries either though. Drogba has been better this season and last season but during Scolari's tenure Drogba was basically missing for the entire season IIRC

He does seem to take a while to get back on form though once he's playing again. Rooney is similar in that regard.

I agree their's isn't great but whenever people talk about them, their fitness record isn't always called into question.

Torres' fitness record is far from perfect but he's not the crock that some people try to make out.

And Drogba played in 24 of Chelsea's league games in Scolari's season, the same as Torres.

I wouldn't say that was true for Torres. The start of this season under Hodgson is the only time he's taken a while to recapture his form. If you look at previous seasons with us, he's come back from an injury and been banging them in from the off.

Am I to late with:

Afonso Alves
2006–2008 Heerenveen 39 apps (45) goals

Oh yeah! Torres is rubbish.

Hoffenheim have confirmed on their official site that Babel has completed his move to them on a 2 1/2 year deal with an option of a further year.
