To be fair, I did think you were talking about form as you while tongue in cheek were talking about the best player under hodgson then without saying it, infering who the best player under Kenny is.
However, I've rarely if ever rated Torres as your best player, best Striker, sure.
Bent I rate as Spurs, then Sunderlands, now villa's best striker, but he wasn't the best player at any 3 of the clubs(maybe sunderland). Torres puts the ball in the net, but more often than not he (look at chalkboard if you don't believe me) fouls more than any other liverpool player almost every game, loses more tackles than any other liverpool player, and SHOULD be sent off. I think he gave away 10 freekicks in one of the last few games, most players would be sent off for that level of fouling, even girly little fouls, do 10 of them and you're asking for trouble. He's sulky, he's moody, he wastes a LOT of posession, he gives away a lot of freekicks stupidly which often just let the other team waste more time. His passing is poor, defensively, nope, etc, etc. I don't stand in for this rubbish Rooney love in and the current need for every striker to go kick the crap out of the midfield for no reason. He's great at the one thing he does, but he's a pretty one dimensional player. Gerrards always been technically a much better player with vastly more range to his game, passing, defending, shooting, heading, freekicks/corners.
Raul for me is playing now as Gerrard was, his current form is that of old Gerrard, good all round player, if he played as he has in the past 3 games for the next 3 years I'd consider him a better player than Torres.
As for Nasri, you haven't watched much Arsenal if you think he's better, 2nd striker, played loads, 9 goals, decent, but not magical. He's been rubbish in his all around game and has had LOADS of useless games, been completely annonymous in several games, against Utd, away in Europe. Fabregas has really had one bad game in the past year or so. As for Rooney, he's in no way Utd's best player, most popular, highest scorer for one season, best, no. Average crosser, often very poor passer, can't score to save his life at the moment, at his best, the goals went in rather than missing, the rest was the same. Berbatov's passing, vision, ability is something Rooney has never, and will never have. Vidic, Berb, Scholes are all better than Rooney.
