Anyone taking any screens from the demo? :D

sorry but how anyone can say that isn't graphically impressive is beyond me, that is staggeringly impressive for a cross-platform game, point me in the direction of a better looking game, please feel free to add a screenshot. the gameplay is solid, sure its not revolutionary but what is these days since everything has been done to death. I will be happy if the final release looks like that (maybe better textures), its playable (unlike the original and a lot of PC games) and the story is the driving point of the game. ;)

but the whole points of a crosshair is to show the spread range of your bullets
Default value is 10 which imo makes it too large.

It's set to 1 in the pics above but as stated you can set it from 1-10.

If you're happy with the default value then leave it as it is. Simples.

it looks great at mid to long range, it's only when you get right in close that you notice the faults in the graphics, the 1st game was the same too, in fact; no game looks great up close on a 55'' screen.. not nearly enough detail shown.

but this game doesn't look as pretty as the first, hardly surprising i suppose

also, i bet you cant get inside the buildings, only the ones they want you too that is.

but the edges of a crosshair are supposed to show how widely your bullets will spread, if you change that value then it's giving you an incorrect value.

The fact that the game's cross-platform doesn't affect my expectations of the graphics at all! I'm not going to tolerate poorer graphics because a game is also available on the 360/PS3...

it might have to have poorer graphics/ dumbed down, because there probably isn't a PC around that could handle the detail that you're after, after all; low framerates/ bugs etc is what totally screwed up the 1st game, and this new game has much more detail in it, we'll have to wait and see

I used to select the smallest crosshair possible in Counterstrike, DOD and UT, too, which I could do via the games menu.

I guess it's largely psychological but I find if I aim small, I miss small.

How many players will be able to play in multiplayer when the retail game comes out?

The Demo is quite fun, but 6v6 is a bit boring and the maps are too small...

thats exactly my problem with these arguments! nobody is happy, period! complaint, complaint, complaint with no real relevance, people want 'photo-realistic' games and thats just not happening, even if it did they'd all start endlessly complaining about how bad it runs and how '60FPS is required for smooth gameplay' or else they're not touching it. heard the same old crap over and over again, sometimes I wonder why I even bother.

Just installed the demo and was trying to create an account, but every time I hit submit it tells my e-mail address is already in use ... all 5 addresses so far.

Orly?

Edit: Anyone else had problems with Gmail/yahoo/rocketmail accounts when registering ?.

+cl_fov=90 +r_DrawNearFoV = 90 +pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov = 90 +r_MotionBlur=0 +g_skipIntro=1 +i_mouse_smooth=0

how do you add this using windows 7?

You will need to create a desktop shortcut if you don’t have it.
Open explorer and goto your steam folder.
Then \steamapps\common\cysis 2 demo\bin32
Find crysis 2 demo exe, right click and create shortcut. Drag that shortcut to the desktop
Then right click the shortcut properties
In there you will see a target box, add +cl_fov=90 +r_DrawNearFoV = 90 +pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov = 90 +r_MotionBlur=0 +g_skipIntro=1 +i_mouse_smooth=0
At the end of whats typed (after the “)

Enjoy :)

Had the same issues.
In the end I just raged a bit and mashed the keypad a little.

(or something like that)

It worked fine :p

Seems it doesn't need to authenticate against a working address!

bigjimmyauk, make sure there's a space between Crysis2Demo.exe and your commands, like so:

"F:\STEAM\steamapps\common\crysis 2 - demo\Bin32\Crysis2Demo.exe" +cl_fov=90 +r_DrawNearFoV = 90 +pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov = 90 +r_MotionBlur=0 +g_skipIntro=1 +i_mouse_smooth=0

It looks a little soft for my liking but that can be down to screenshot compression.
