***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

I getting fairly high framerate with my 4870X2 (overclocked), also sorry to anyone who says this looks bad, you are talking utter balls. at 1080P its one of the nicest looking games I have personally played, still stand by my original statement that it looks better than original Crysis in a number of ways, things look much 'smoother' in Crysis II, hated how the horrible jaggy trees basically ruined the graphics of the original game, also sorry but they were terrible no matter what you did, AA or no AA. don't get me wrong Crysis was a beautiful game when it was playing, you don't really notice the jaggies too much when your blowing the hell out of stuff, but even if you stop and look around in Crysis II the smoothness of everything is much more noticable, plus the lighting is superb, the only (and I mean only) graphical problem is I get weird flickering water at times, not sure why and the texture qualities aren't upto Crysis I standards. but other than that (don't waste your time with 'you got bad eyesight?' crap) it does for me look better than the original, which considering this is merely a demo bodes well for the final release, it also runs faster and smoother. sure it plays a 'bit' like a console game, but I used to be a dedicated PC FPS man, with Americas Army, Unreal Tournament, etc. back in the day, been using my 360 more for FPS these days and I must admit I am much better player after doing so, Crysis II feels better with an xbox 360 pad than a keyboard, think the keyboard slows you down to be honest. :) but overall I think the demo so far is good, dedicated servers are absolute pants mind, since 9 times out of 10 all I get is 'server full' or 'cannot connect to server'.

This was taken with Fraps over a single multiplayer round lasting just over 7minutes and 30 seconds. With extreme settings and 1920x1080.

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
28473, 453610, 42, 84, 62.770

So when a CF profile is released for it we will see 6970's achieving an average of about 100-110fps? Apparently it is DX9 and won't be DX11 until after the launch so CF 6970 or a 6990 would expected to get an average of 80-100FPS in Crysis 2 the full fat version?

Here's a short clip I recorded of maxed settings during gameplay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Nrg15XVxfw
Can't say it looks bad but maybe lower settings it looks far worse?

whats with the rolleyes, because someone actually thinks Crytek has done a good job with Crysis II instead of bashing it left right and centre? big deal, I prefer it with a 360 pad, I mean Im not using aim assist or anything? whats your problem with that like? just finally coming to realise that so many people on here are never happy with anything, nothing Crysis II could have ever done would have been good enough. how about instead of sarcastic comments, how about posting something objective? and saying 'OMFG its totally a console port LOLZ' doesn't really count, because its not really getting a point across very well...;)

For what it's worth I think Crytek have done a excellent job with crysis 2 and we have yet to see the SP yet.:D

Some PC gamers will never be happy not until they have ****ed the last of the developers that really care about PC gaming Crytek, Blizzard and Valve by people saying it is a console port when it's not or turning to piracy.

Crytek have said they will add DX11 at a later date that's fine by me because the game look amazing in it's current state.:)

You need better graphical standards :p

Speak for yourself ;) hehe

The leaked copy is far from polished, buggy as hell but the couple of levels I played before I got fed up of having to restart and resume were pretty good, enjoyable stuff :)

It's a massive download (9gb+) but it's a good way of sampling the SP game

I'll definately be buying this one!

Does anyone want to explain to me how to log in to the demo? Argh
I try using the same log in details that I can use to successfully log in to the gamespy site, yet in the crysis they dont work.

Just tested with CF disabled,

AMD HD 6970-
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
28043, 510720, 41, 76, 54.909

So I guess crossfire does work but not very well at all.

I can't wait to get the game, having a great time in mp. I'm pretty impress with the graphic for not being DX11.

I think the only obvious thing you will see when they release DX11 for it will be that the walls/ground will have some tessellation instead of being completely flat and more realistic looking water.

Just got round to playing the demo. There is nothing that I really like about it but nothing I really dislike about it either. It is just a bit.........meh.

Will be avoiding unless the SP turns out good.

If you haven't done so already then it's worth adding the following command to your shortcut:

+hud_CrosshairSpreadMultiplier 1 (default is 10)

It's a small crosshair tweak which reduces its size.
