Bullying - Who's in the wrong here?

the little scum bag got what he deserved, good on the big guy i say. Will make the 'rat' think again before picking on someone else. lesson learned.

The school is to blame for not dealing with bullying in the first place. The runt who was bullying the chubby kid obviously thought there would be no negative consequence for his actions.

Shame on that school.

I don't support violence, but that kid was defending himself from unprovoked punches, the fact he lost his rag and threw the other kid to a concrete floor is excusable in my book.

p.s. the encyclopediadramatica link brought up a blocked by corporate webproxy due to "racism and hate"...........

How can it even be considered an over reaction. He stayed calm and was hit several times, he didn't want anything to do with it. Then he defended himself.

No broken anything it seems, especially not a dislocated knee (no way would he have got up wth a busted knee).

A NSW Department of Education and Training spokeswoman said the school "does not tolerate any violence and deals with all cases according to its community-agreed discipline code".
"Both students in a fight at the school shown on the internet have been suspended ... the only injury sustained was a grazed knee."

It's right that the kid got suspended, although some would say he was right for doing what he did, schools can hardly promote an environment when violence and retaliation is the right thing to do.

What else is there to do when the teachers won't combat the bullying in the first place? Info says he's been bullied all his (school?) life so at least one teacher will have know it was going on so why wasn't something done about it?

The rodent deserved what it got.

There was no overreaction. He endured years of bullying and finally retaliated, his restrain is also impressive.

I found myself in a similar situation at school. I was bullied for years, then one day I decided to start fighting back. But to the teachers, I was the bully, and all those years of torture I had experienced apparently went by unnoticed to them.

From now on they will leave this kid alone, bullies are cowards who will not dare pick on someone who will fight back.

Teachers dont do nothing at school i kinda learnt from this first hand...altho i did lose my rag one day when one of the lads who been griefing me for years was on my road and i just saw red and picked up a 2" think branch and went after him even with my older sister holding onto me i was dragging her cant say i would have done it normally

bully deserved it... unfortunately we live in a society where one cannot defend themselves legally. I do wonder how many fights the people laying down the law - ( in this case i presume the headmaster) have been in. The law , in this country, states one can use proporitonate force in a self defence situation, but people don't understand how people react when they get adrenaline pumping round their body...

The kid had already punched him in the face, and was continuing the attack, even after the bigger kid was backing down... In my opinion the bigger kid acted well within his rights to disable the bully's ability to cause him further damage...

We barely live in an eye for an eye society reg. law and self defence, where as imo it should be 2 eyes for an eye...

Yet it appears that they do tolerate bullying (as this kid had been picked on for years)

The head of Chifley College should be suspended for not protecting the students according to their own policies, or at the very least be made to explain such incompetence.

This happens all the time, headtechers on TV whine about having an anti-bullying policy and other such nonsense, but blatantly ignore bullying right under their nose. Then look so surprised when kids hang themselves.

Can you really stop bullying though? Unless you have teachers watching students every second of the day and enough of them not to miss anything...?

If the victim hadn't told anyone then no teachers would know..
