***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

So you won't be playing any game that has a story then ?

They have to be linear so the player can reach the end.

CR2 is unbelievably linear compared to CR1, you can bypass 90% of enemies by just running past them to the next checkpoint, it has none of the sand box feel of the original crysis and just feels like a very generic console shooter in the COD style.

Looks better than the first if you ask me. That had a pretty dull single player and I don't care what you say about the graphical options, still looks better than pretty much everything on PC. Derp.

Play it on xbox 360 then, as it obvious you have no clue what a good looking game is on the PC, to say it looks better than the original cyrsis is a joke TBH, must have played crysis on very low settings on a budget dell desktop or something.

hopefully my copy arrives tomor! After getting over the initial disapointment (from playing the demo) I am actually really looking forward to playing it now!

You can run straight past the enemies in Crysis & Warhead as well, so that's no different.

Create a distraction in any of them and the AI will flock around it like moths to a lightulb at night, looking at it in awe...

I'd agree that Crysis & Warhead have a slightly bigger enviroment to run around in when going from A>B, but you're still being forced along a path in all 3 games.

Only difference now is you're boxed in with buildings instead of high cliff faces & shark infested water.

Won't be a full priced purchase for me, three graphical option only, no AA settings and DX9 scream fail and lazy port to me, the game has low quality textures as seen in the leaked version and demo, the linear gameplay is the finale nail in the coffin for me.

Instead of making a extremely brilliant game for PC, then culling effect and textures etc to the point where it can run on Xbox 360/PS3, they make a game for Xbox 360/PS3, and rely on the engine to make it look better for PC.

I paid for the original Crysis and was quite happy to do so, but I'm not paying for a game that has been crippled just because consoles wouldn't be able to run it otherwise, and I think a lot of people feel the same way.

here we go again with your utter tosh did you not read the update allowed full access to the 3500 line config file, you really should stop posting you biased troll opinions on these forums.

qouted from the update list "players now have unrestricted access to the in-game console"

QQ much. It's a console port deal with it, and you're going on ignore as I find you annoying and you rather uptight.

LOL you mean you just have trouble winning your pathetic attempts at trolling with me. Obviously once again you also show your utter lack of knowledge saying it is a console port when infact it is not a console port. It is a multi render path engine capable of outputting to all 3 formats but still required a dedicated PC team to even get the game to us.

i'd love to see the people that agree with your pedantic posts!!!

Sorry matey, your the guy talking crap here.

It's been stated so many times that everything will be configurable from console commands and ini files. It just happens that the ingame menus are streamlined for people who just want to get on and play the game. Which for the vast majority of normal people (ie those that don't browse hardware forums and build their own computers) is all they need.

+1 Couldn't have said it better myself,

We're talking PC here not consoles, PC gamers do not require streamlined menus with three GFX options, facts still stands it's a DX9 console port with little variation in visual quality over the three GFX settings.

Crysis 2 is not a console port but it is a mass-demographic aimed game, look at the suit ablities they have been toned down and streamlined compared to the previous games yet they work just as well.

Why would Crytek bother making a new menu just for PC gamers when probably only 30% or so of people who BUY the game would want the advanced graphic tweaks. Then probably 25% out of that 30% edited the ini files with the original Crysis so this version will be nothing new to them.

I admit it's sad seeing more and more PC games losing these personalised menus but I'm glad they aren't actually losing the features all together!

Yeh it was nice in the demo, with the suit customisation we've seen in some of the gameplay teasers it looks much more customisable than the original :D

its not a console port...! swear to god, how many times do people want to post the same balls about it being 'DX9' and 'its a console port...', any understanding of the term 'port' would demonstrate to you how this is not a port. also DX9 makes no bloody difference either, look at the original crysis, DX10 brought nothing at all to the table, except inferior performance.
