***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

For example, I completed it without stopping and staring at a leaf for 3 hours or going in and out of the water and watching the water drip down the visor in different directions and trying to work out if it was random or there was a pattern to it, again, for 3 hours :D

nobody played it like that unless they were putting the engine under the microscope.
i saw the graphics as a tool for immersion it built up a more realistic feeling.
crysis 2 is a step back, with crysis 1 crytek showed they wanted to push gaming forward in terms of visuals and interaction down to the smallest thing, look at crysis 1 you threw a crate it smashed into pieces in crysis 2 crates are indestructible.a lot of people have been knocking the pc community for noticing things like this, if all the big company's decided to keep games 2d to save money those people would have taken it on their back with a smile on there face.
bottom line is if your not moving forward your moving backwards.

This is wht happens when you don't use DX11, you can make the eye candy look good, but sacrifice the goodies when using DX9. :(

On a personal not I am narked off at the fact when you leave the game, all the nano credits you acquire are not saved. So far I have lost about 15000, whish is very annoying indeed

For the chap who said he gets a graphics crash were it goes black then carries on as if the drivers stopped responding etc
I have that after about ten mins in from a fresh load of the game then it is perfect again ,
I thought it was an SLI prob but now i know its not CHEERS FOR THAT and lets hope they fix the drivers
BTW i have the 480's so not just a 580 problem etc.

Pretty sure Crysis 1 managed everything fine with DX9.

It's amazing how people that know so little about DX11 are using it as their main argument for everything wrong about the game.

I get the same problem with my 480. Might try lowering the clocks.

I kept doing that.. Saved them up and quit, took a while to realise I was losing them every time I quit. I didn't end up buying many of the suit upgrades.. I could only afford the cloak tracker right before I finished the game!

I never said the game was bad. I have been enjoying it apart from the nano issues. I was expecting it to be a natural follow-on from the first game though, with the nice volumetrics and everything else.

also baffles me, since everything ran in Crysis I in DX9, physics were the same, lighting was the same, everything was the same, there was no notable difference except a performance hit, seemingly for nothing. if sticking to DX9 allows them to get Crysis II too look as good as it does and work as well as it does, so be it. you'll only be struggling to see the difference between DX9 and DX11 in Crysis II anyways, just sitting there pondering 'where the hell has my performance gone...?' ;)

funny thing is, cryengine2 isn't even running at its maximum potential either, some of the custom settings are insane! don't even think they've scratched the surface either, I hear cryengine3 has like 3700 variables or something as well, thats like 1300 more than cryengine2...! I would put money on it having the potential to be almost photo-realistic. ;)

They worked for me to a degree. I'm using 11.3 with an older version of CCC which meant I've been able to run the game (though not significantly well) flicker free by disabling Cat AI. These CAPS have removed the flicker but have given no performance boost over the single gpu use you get when disabling Cat AI. Hopefully with the next release the flicker will be gone and performance will be somewhere near where it should be.

It's a 560 I have which have different drivers to the other Nvidia Cards (they only work with 560).

Yeah I will try that, Ta.
