***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

I don't get how people prefer the manual wheel to the automated system, it's so much more fluid now

more limited ammo gives a more reasonable amount and all the guns minus the grendel have pretty reasonable max ammo counts

Yeah, I run out of ammo for the Grendel before I know it. I think that's deliberate because it's insanely powerful.

I took this:

"1920x1200 Resolution

Increasing the resolution to 1920x1200 pushed most cards below an average of 50fps, leaving just the GeForce GTX 580 and GTX 590 with ideal frame rates. The GeForce GTX 560 Ti averaged 40fps while the Radeon HD 6970 was only a fraction faster with 42fps and the GTX 570 jumped up another notch to 44fps."

From here.

This gives off the wrong impression.

The game runs absolutly buttery smooth on my 5870, so who cares about the actually fps, its the feel of the game at the end of the day that matters. I even had to turn vsync on to stop the tearing. (For my monitor to tear, I must be exceeding 60fps?)

If it feels smooth, then it is smooth!

Ok, so now I'm running on v1.2 and it seems to have cleared up all flickering issues. Now, I'm really enjoying the game for what it is. But one niggle is still here, I wouldn't call it buttery smooth! For dx9, 40-45fps on 6950's in crossfire screams that the engine is underoptimised....

I play this game in 3D and the detail is amazing, Am I the only one who's playing it in 3D and if so you peeps really dont know what you are missing

The only problem i get with this game is after the first say 5 mins of play my screen go's black and then 5 secounds later comes on again and i carry on playing.
Only does it once when i have started the game so does not bother me

Are you sure thats all the fps your getting?

I would have thought xfire 6950's would score higher.

I get over 100 fps on SLI 480, seems like a crossfire issue, perhaps drivers will sort it.

The game is really, and the graphics are some of the best on PC, I really don't get what people are crying about.

the graphics is just a blurry illusion imo

once the blur has been disabled it doest look that good

would look great if you could enable proper AA tho

Somefink must be wrong with your system bud, my 5850 xfire set up is hitting almost double that.

How much of an FPS hit do you take for going 3d? After reading your comment I am now interested in this, but I'm only on a 470 (800 on the core).

with sli 480's i have 60 locked frames in 3D mode as the monitor will lock at that automaticly even with V sync off

I will turn sli off and test with just one for you i will put the clocks at 800core for the test, whats the ram setting you running?

EDIT Well i got one 480 @ 800core 1600 shader and 1900 ram i got 45 to 50 fps pretty much all the time with highs of 60+fps (still locked at 60 for 3d) and lows of 35 but i will say man its not as smooth as with the two 480s so SLI back on for me now

Cheers man, much appreciated!
I think I can live with an average of around 45fps, although given your SLI performance I'm mighty tempted :)
